She cut the line. I wondered the kind of thing she wanted to discuss with me. Maybe she wanted to know about cosmetics business, I reasoned. But then, she could have asked her sister who owned the business. I was just an employee.

Any way, I would soon find out what she wanted to discuss. Inwardly, I hoped nothing bad had happened to Madam Fiyin.

The Eatery was just about fifteen minutes drive from my place of work. When it was quarter to four, I left for the place. By a minute to four o'clock, I was inside the well-airconditioned interior of the eatery.

The place was busy with some customers queuing up to buy meals while some were already seated and eating. I told one of the sales I was wanted to see the manager. She asked me what for.

"I was directed by Madam Princess to ask for the manager."

The sales girl nodded and motioned me to a seat. She went inside a room. In a jiffy, a lady in jeans and t-shirt came to meet me.

"Good afternoon, sir," she greeted politely. "What's the name?"

"I'm Nini. Are you the manager?"

"Yes. Madam said I should give you refreshments when you come. She's on her way. What will you have?"

Despite the tantalising aroma that prevaded the place, I didn't feel like taking anything.

I shook my head. "No, thanks."

She looked surprised. "You could have fried rice, or even snacks and drinks, sit," she suggested.

"Thank you so much. I appreciate, but I don't want to have anything right now."

"Okay." She left.

I watched the activities going on around me and intermittently watched the large television screen.

I waited for about ten minutes before an important-looking woman dressed in skirt suit entered the eatery. I could see one of the sales girls greeting her. She spoke to the sales girl and the latter pointed at my direction. The woman then walked towards my direction. That must be Princess.

I stood up as she got to my table. "Good evening, madam."
