A lady has committed suicide after years of giving out threats to kill herself and go join her twin in heaven.

The friends of the 24-year-old lady identified as O’tega Kehinde Grace, have been thrown into mourning after the alleged suicide.

Tega was said to have drunk a poisonous substance, yesterday, at their Mafoluku residence in Lagos.

According to her friends, the deceased had a history of talking about going to join her twin, Taiwo, in heaven, anytime she’s feeling sad.

A chat shared by someone who interacted with her boyfriend also indicates that days before taking her own life, she complained about her parents.

President Buhari and Atiku Abubakar today joined other candidates in signing the second 2019 National Peace Accord in Abuja.


The ceremony which was attended by the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu, the secretary-general of the Commonwealth; Patricia Scotland, Catholic Bishop of Sokoto, Mathew Kukah, Abdulsalami Abubakar, the chairman of the National Peace Committee and other members of the National Peace Committee (NPC).

The chairman of the national peace committee, former Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar, said the committee decided to organise the peace accord signing in order to ensure peaceful conduct of all elections in the country.

Speaking on the need to ensure that the elections are conducted peacefully, Abubakar, said:

“Don’t do anything to make a bad situation worse.”

President Buhari while addressing the guests, reiterated his position to ensure a free and fair election come this Saturday, February 16th. He called on all wellmeaning Nigerians to come out enmass and cast their vote.

Atiku on his part, appealed to INEC and the security agencies to ensure free, fair elections. He recalled the words of former President Goodluck Jonathan where he said that his ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian. Atiku said that the Nigerian democracy should emerge stronger than the 2015 general elections that was adjudged the freest and fairest in the country.

A female suspected kidnapper, identified as Tawa was caught while allegedly trying to abduct three children in Ibadan, Oyo state.

Tawa was apprehended and beaten after she was caught in the act.

According to a report, Tawa met the children on the street at Mokola, when she attempted to kidnap them.

According to an eyewitness, the woman touched the children with a charm and they lost control. She was about taking them out of the vicinity, not knowing a petty trader by the roadside saw her and what transpired.

The trader approached her and asked her what she was doing with the children, but she couldn’t give an answer.

An alarm was immediately raised as neighbours and residents including the children’s parents trooped out and descended on the suspected kidnapper.

Julian Draxler is confident Paris Saint-Germain can stop Paul Pogba in Tuesday’s Champions League last-16 tie against Manchester United.

Pogba has scored eight goals and set up five more in the 10 games he has played since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho in December – deploying the France midfielder in a more attacking role.

Germany international Draxler admits Pogba is “capable of everything”, but is optimistic PSG can nullify him at Old Trafford.

Asked if it was impossible to stop Pogba, Draxler said: “I’ve known Paul for a long time.

“I’ve played against him when we played Germany vs France. Sometimes we managed to stop him, we have managed to stop him on a few occasions.

“He’s a great player, a top player with lots of qualities and the kind of player who excels in a top game in the Champions League.

“But we’ve got some good players, who I think will be capable of stopping him.”

Paris Saint-Germain defender, Dani Alves has disclosed how Thomas Tuchel’s men will beat Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side in today’s Champions League fixture.

PSG will tackle Man United in tonight’s Champions League round of 16 first leg tie at Old Trafford.

Alves believes the only way PSG will defeat Man United in front of their home fans, is to raise their level of performance and concentration.

“I think we have to learn from the mistakes made during the competition and not reproduce the same mistakes,” Alves told the club’s official website.

“There are few games in the Champions League, so there is little room for error. We have to capitalise on what we do well because we have great ambitions in this competition.

“We need to raise our level of performance, concentration, raise our level in duels, but I know we can do it, and we will do it.

“It will not be easy, of course, they will not give us presents. We will have to race each other to clinch the qualification.”

The kick-off time for the match is 9pm.

The University of Ibadan has announced the resumption date for academic activities following the suspension of a three-month-old strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

The university management in a statement signed by the Vice Chancellor, Idowu Olayinka announced February 14, as resumption date for its students.

However, academic activities will resume officially on Feb. 18th.

The statement reads:

“Following the suspension of the strike action embarked upon by the ASUU, we wish to advise our students to plan to return to the university as from Thursday, 14th February 2019.

“This would enable those whose voting centres are located within the university to exercise their civic responsibilities on election days.

“On the issue of resumption day for academic activities as directed by the ASUU President, the University of Ibadan management have scheduled to re-commence on Monday, February 18, 2019.

“A revised Academic Calendar for the rest of the 2017/2018 session is being drawn up and will be circulated shortly.

“We wish all those that will be travelling from far and near to Ibadan safe trips.”

Raphael Samuel, a 27-year-old Indian man, plans to sue his parents for giving birth to him without his consent.

The businessman told the BBC that it's wrong to bring children into the world because they then have to put up with lifelong suffering.

Although Samuel understands that our consent can't be sought before we are born, but insists that "it was not our decision to be born".

So as we didn't ask to be born, we should be paid for the rest of our lives to live, he argues.

In a statement, his mother, Kavita Karnad Samuel, who is a lawyer, explained her response to "the recent upheaval my son has created".

"I must admire my son's temerity to want to take his parents to court knowing both of us are lawyers. .

And if Raphael could come up with a rational explanation as to how we could have sought his consent to be born, I will accept my fault," she said.

Mr Samuel's belief is rooted in what's called anti-natalism - a philosophy that argues that life is so full of misery that people should stop procreating immediately.

This, he says, would gradually phase out humanity from the Earth and that would also be so much better for the planet. "There's no point to humanity. So many people are suffering. .

If humanity is extinct, Earth and animals would be happier. They'll certainly be better off. Also no human will then suffer. Human existence is totally pointless.

Real Madrid have informed Eden Hazard, that they will make an offer to sign him from Chelsea this summer, the UK Telegraph reports.

On Tuesday, Hazard revealed that he has made a decision on his future, stating that “I know what I am going to do”.

The Belgian is now expected to tell Chelsea he wants to leave, after receiving assurances from Real, that they will launch a move for him after the season ends.

Hazard will have just a year remaining on his contract in the summer and has not yet agreed a new deal to remain at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues remain hopeful that they can convince Hazard to stay and sign a new long-term deal, but talks over a new contract have not progressed.
