Politics / How Land Mark Beach Forfeits Right To Compensation (pictures) by Biodun556(m): 7:09am On Apr 28
Looking at these pictures keenly, consider these facts:

1. Beach is like a road side, certain meters from the water belong to government. It is a public space.

2. The coastal road would have affected only the structure of land mark beach which only belongs to him. But because of his noise the road was brought in front of the structure making government to lay claim to the coast that legally belongs to it, sand filling the water to create more space for the road.

3.Since land mark beach ⛱️ structure is not affected, no more compensation

4. Does land mark beach owner even have approval for the structure in the first place?

SoNature:
This is the problem of Nigerian journalists - a bunch of uninformed people. The owner of Landmark argued that before he acquired the land, he was aware of that coastal road. As a result, he acquired his land in a way that the road would run behind his resort.

Now, this government came aboard and changed the course of the project in a way that it runs through Landmark's beach front. If that road runs through its beach front, with cars and trucks speeding on that expressway, that $200 million investment is totally ruined because that beach significantly contributes to its beauty and splendour.

The question these journalists didn't ask Umahi is, "Why was the course of the tilted?"

It can be tilted if demolition and cost of compensation will be more

Apparently there are more houses and structures behind land mark beach so it has to be brought in front of it

The road only affects his beach not his structure

Celebrities / Police: Mohbad Autopsy Results Out,we Don't Understand The Jargons by Biodun556(m): 4:35am On Apr 26
The official who spoke on condition of anonymity as he was not authorised to speak on the matter added that the test result was transmitted to the police earlier this week.

“The toxicology test is ready and given to the police. We projected 10 weeks from the outset but it came in before then. It was received by the DNA and Forensic Centre last week and has been sent to the police,” the source said.

A source in the Lagos State Police Command who also spoke on condition of anonymity as he was not permitted to speak to the press confirmed the receipt of the result.

The source said, “The toxicology report is with us. It arrived on Monday but it is medical jargon for us. We don’t understand what it is. So it has been sent to the pathologist that carried out the autopsy to analyse and interpret it.”

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, could not be reached as calls made to his phone were not answered. A text message sent to him had yet to be replied to as of the time the report was filed.

The Director of Lagos State DNA and Forensic Centre, Richard Somiari, on March 20 said that the toxicology result would be ready in the next three to four weeks.

Business / BDC Blames P2P For Naira Depreciation Wants CBN To Take Action by Biodun556(m): 7:27pm On Apr 25
The Association of Bureau De Change Operators of Nigeria, ABCON, has blamed peer-to-peer cryptocurrency platforms like Binance for the recent depreciation of the Naira against the Dollar in the foreign exchange market.

The National President of ABCON, Aminu Gwadabe, disclosed this in an interview with NAN on Wednesday.

He stated that as long as Binance and other platforms remain profitable, the Naira’s depreciation will persist.

He said that the recent wave of depreciation of the Naira was of concern to the BDC operators.

“I am happy that the authorities, and even the BDCs as operators, have identified the peer-to-peer (P2P) platform.

“The P2P is a platform like Binance, where speculators use the Dollar to buy USDT, a stablecoin that is pegged at one to the Dollar.

“As long as Binance and other platforms remain profitable, the Naira will continue to depreciate.

“There are many of them in the system. Binance has been nipped in the bud, but there are still many. They are online platforms with no registration, no restrictions,” he stated.

Recall that Naira slumped against the Dollar in the foreign exchange market despite the Central Bank of Nigeria’s release of an additional $10,000 each to legible BDC operators on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, resumed clamping down on Binance and other cryptocurrency platforms to defend the Naira in the FX market.

The anti-graft agency had arraigned Binance and two of its executives before an Abuja High Court over alleged fraud and currency
