TimeManager: Tems is global, Congratulations on your latest achievement at 29. I never knew she is going to be a superstar, I dumped her for being an introvert, no clubbing, no hanging out, too reserved, no frequent romance, etc. Wish I was a bit patient with her but al the same, no regrets. We both doing well. I'd see you soon, Temi.

Politics › Re: I decided long time ago, I will never join the PDP - Nasir El-Rufai (video) by bisqit: 12:01pm On Feb 25, 2025 |
casualobserver: I have said it in 2 threads already, all this noise from ElRufai is a cry for help. His problem is that he is a baby politician and he has always been in power on the strength of the political power or structure of others. All his public offices were appointments standing on the shoulders of giants and his governorship election was won on the strength of Buhari and APC.
The mistake technocrats in Nigeria seem to make time and time again is they get high on the positions they occupy and start to think of themselves as politicians and disrespect the game. It is the same error Osinbajo made.
ElRufai is a baby politician and he will learn politics by force if he says he wants to remain a politician.
He said it himself in the interview that he is a technocrat not a politician. Well if you want to be a politician in Nigeria he needs to stop thinking like a technocrat! To start with he revealed his hand too early….big error! a true Nigerian politician would bid his time before making his move. Whats your discipline? |

Jamiuokolaa: Amorim isn't the 1st coach that would implement 3CBs Mid Season, neither would he be the last
•Conte, a staunch disciple of 3CBs, took over at Spurs in November and qualified them for the CL. He took over a side that had lost 5 out of 7 matches in the league!
•Tuchel, another astute disciple of 3CBs took over from Fat Frank in January, led his team to a top 4 finish and won the CL!
No excuses whatsoever. They came on board, provided their respective teams with the much needed "new manager's bounce" and boom... delivered the results they were employed to get. No meaningless interviews and chochocho - na just workings and ofcourse, results!
However, Man Utd's case must always be different. If we are not blaming Global Recession, it probably would be the latest policies of Trump or the long lasting effects of COVID - there must always be one excuse!
Even If we are to give Amorim or any UTD manager some leeway and excuse that the aforementioned achievements are unattainable, finishing 15th in the league after overseeing 27 games as the gaffer - for better context, 71% of the season, is just pathetic and reeks of sheer mediocrity!
For peeps that truly put the interests of the club ahead of sentiments and unncessary emotions, most would even find it plain ridiculous that such a terrible performance is being defended to start with!
The thought alone makes one cringe!
We also firmly say NO to poor performances, mediocrity and the associated excuses!
Like you opined below, winning football matches is the topmost concern of any manager - let's cut out the sentimental and emotional BS we keep putting up in Amorim's defence
Amorim was swiftly contacted to stem the ugly tide of results under Ten hag at the early stages of the campaign. The idea behind Ten hag's sack was to proactively forestall a disastrous season that was already unfolding at that time.
It is also worthy of mention that nobody put a gun to his head to sign the deal. By appending his signature to that contract as the manager of the team, he takes full responsibility and shall be held accountable at all times.Maybe if it was stipulated in the contract that his accountability starts from next season after the purchase of players or that he wouldnt be paid his weekly wages till next season, you might have a point.
Like I earlier opined, nobody even set any lofty expectations for him this season. He hasnt been given the immediate task of Matching liverpool, neither has he been asked to qualify for the champions league
However, it simply doesn't make any sense if we are significantly worse off than we were under his predecessor who was sacked for poor results early in the season This is high level analysis. Whats your level of qualification? |

Let Lewis Hall work harder and measure up to Lewis-Skelly, before dreaming of rubbing shoulders with Euros winner, Cucurella. Lewis Gini? Somebody that cannot stay out of red cards is who you are citing |

AirBere: Doku is arguably the most low IQ footballer I've ever seen in the premier league. I thought Adama was bad, but I'll take him ahead of Djoku. At least Adama will dribble, get to the byline, put in a cross or just tire out the fullbacks by direct running. Doku is a static dribbler with zero football intelligence.
In the past, he'll be playing as a full back for Pep or simply benched then eventually sold. Doku is better than grealish and madueke. I will wipe you with dry koboko now. Aboki bring that one come |
