Why are the plate numbers so mangled?

I came across this in a blog last night and could only laugh cus it has happened in a family I know. An lady(an unemployed school leaver in her early 30s) was brought into the US by her relatives to work as a nanny for a specified number of year before she is settled, a gentleman's agreement no doubt. After a few months she got really caught up by the American life and became over ambitious. She started challenging every detail in the unwritten agreement, she wanted more money, new cloths, off hours for outing, friend, schooling/a job. When her complaint became unbearable, the couple threatened to send her back. Disgruntled, she started the same process as did this in the case of the Texas couple here. In summary, her case landed her back to Nigeria, the couple wriggled off with only a fine. (she later confessed to be working in line with the council of her elder brother in Nigeria, who was equally unemployed) .

Slavery, Visa Fraud & Harboring Charged in Texas: USA v. Nsobundu

DOJ, Feb. 8, 2016 - "A couple residing in Katy has been taken into custody following the filing of a criminal complaint alleging forced labor, withholding documents, conspiracy to harbor an illegal alien and visa fraud, announced U.S. Attorney Kenneth Magidson.

Chudy and Sandra Nsobundu, 56 and 50, respectively, were arrested today and expected to make their initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Nancy Johnson at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow. The criminal complaint was filed under seal Feb. 5, 2016, and automatically unsealed upon their arrests today.

The victim is a 38-year-old Nigerian national. According to the affidavit in support of the complaint, she was subjected to physical and verbal abuse while employed by the Katy couple and regularly referred to as “the idiot.” The victim allegedly worked every day from 5:30 a.m. until 1:00 a.m. and was responsible for cleaning the house, making meals and taking care of five children. The criminal complaint alleges she was told she could not watch television or even sit down during her work hours. She was also allegedly told to sleep on the floor and could not use warm water to bathe or wash her hair. The affidavit also claims that she was not allowed to eat fresh food and was only permitted the leftovers from the previous prepared meals. Further, if the victim even wanted some milk for her tea, she would have to actually strain the milk out of the children’s cereal bowls, according to the allegations. In one instance of alleged abuse, the criminal complaint charges that Sandra Nsobundu drug the victim by her hair and hit her across her face because she did not like the socks the victim put on one of the children.

The victim did not have access to a phone and could not communicate with her family, according the charges. Her movements were mostly limited to the residence and allegedly only allowed out for short walks with the youngest children around her block. The charges outlined in the complaint indicate the victim also did not have access to her passport and other travel documents.

The defendants had previously agreed to pay the woman 20,000 Nigerian nairas - $100 U.S. dollars per month, according to the charges. The Nsobundus allegedly never paid the victim for any of her work here in the U.S.

The victim was rescued Oct. 10, 2015, after more than two years with the Nsobundus in the U.S., following a tip to the National Human Trafficking Resource Center.

If convicted of forced labor, the defendants face up to 20 years in federal prison. For visa fraud, the maximum penalty is a 25-year-federal prison term, while the withholding documents and harboring conspiracy carry as possible punishment a maximum five and 10 years, respectively, upon conviction. All of the charges could also result in a $250,000 maximum fine."

Well said. True too. But your bias for the SE is too obvious in this post. The North is the North, I will leave it at that. It is the SW I'm worried about. It is clear to see that a lot of youths in Ogun and Lagos are one way or the other drifting to the entertainment industry, with or without efforts put in. That is the distraction. I see more piercings, tattoos, bleaching, dreadlocks etc than ever before, mutilate their bodies, most times appearing unemployable too. They are distracted.

I got into an argument with my friend John M. on Monday about Africa (I always get into arguments lately). We debated about the challenges faced by Africa and the possibility of diverting the African course to a ruling continent. I must say, we agreed on this one thing; Africa is the least challenged continent on this planet, and my beloved Nigeria is one of the least challenged.

Now I know someone will be upset at my 'ignorance', or 'blindness' of the African plight, and close this page. Hold your horses, I'm not being too conclusive. Lets look at this scenario:

If Africa is to be completely evacuated, and the Europeans, or any other random advanced continent or country dwellers are brought in, where do you see Africa in 50 years. With our fertile vegetation, stable climate and stable crust? Let's not be racist! Now imagine Africans in a region plagued by hurricanes, tsunami, blizzard, Forest fire, landslide, earthquake, heatwave, SNOW! Think.
Tell me.
You will discover by your self that our problems is not only a System problem, its also a people problem. I will discuss my thoughts on how the human geographic roots affect his thought pattern later on my blog, not today. Today's topic isn't about Nigeria or Africa, it is about Japan, Land of the rising sun.

Let us take a few moment to worry about Japan.

Japan has a Nominal GDP of $4.210 Trillion, and a Per Capita income of $33,223, making tit the 3rd Largest economy in the world. they also have the world's second longest life expectancy at birth, at 84.74 years in 2015. Ironically they also pose as the country with the lowest birthrate, with a birth rate of 7.93 in 1000 (only recently surpassed by Germany in a May 2015 survey), mange a low mortality rate of 9.73 per 1000 persons. Thus averagely an aging population.

Top on the challenges facing Japan's shrinking population today is the virginity problems. Yes "Virginity". Japan suffers an odd situations of having so many mid-age virgins, having lots of men and women at 40 who are still virgins. Trust me, this has nothing to do with any religious beliefs. Up to 80% of their population don't identify with any form religion. #BigCityLife

With the world's most rapidly aging population, their sexual apathy is extremely causing growing concerns that Japan may nut be able to produce enough children to sustain their massive economy, due to shortage in labour force.

A survey by Japan's National Institute for Populations and Social security Research in 2010 found that a quarter of Japanese men in their thirties were still virgins. Amazing isn't it?

They are imaginative people who love fantasies (you can see that from their games and cartoons), thus the illusions of a perfect relationship coupled with the Japanese fear for failure, they degenerate into induced chastity. A lot of Japanese in there forties have never kissed a girl or dated one. They are distracted my their manga series, comics, cartoons, movies, music, celebrities, video games, sports and other forms of entertainments, that comes with little suffering or pain and with low tendency of causing depression. (Quick fact: In Japan they use more papers for Comics than for tissues).

NOTE: Japan has famous red light districts(aka Ashawo spot) littered in urban and suburb areas, but this has done little to nothing to ease their crashing libido.
There is also the case of numerous sexless marriages, with a Tokyo suburban clinic recording over 200 women in marriages who have not had sex with their husband in over 20 years (shall we please observe a moment of silence). Many men see their wives as a second mother, and not a woman with emotional and sexual needs, and guess what? the women still love their husbands and aren't opting for a divorce. Creepy!

If this trend continues till 2060, Japan's 128 million population could shrink by 30%, with 2 in 5 people above the age of 65.

This has lead to Non-Profit groups like White Hand to set up programs like; 3 days sex Booth Camp, to help people loose their virginity in days. Damn!....well this was halted almost immediately (I can bet my next pay cheque that randy men and women would flood their gates for free sampling).

I just woke up with these thoughts on my head.

Yesterday our beloved President Gen.(rtd) Muhammadu Buhari, his son Yusuf, Rotimi Amaechi, Adams Oshimole, CBN’s Emefiele and 29 other members of his entourage jet out for the much anticipated trip to the United States of America to visit the Global Watchdog and President of the Free country, United States President Barak Obama, where he will first be received and hosted at the historic Blair House in Pennsylvania by former US secretary of state Madeline Albright, before making it for breakfast at the white house with VP Joe Biden and then the meeting with Obama himself. The first time in history a visiting Nigerian Leader will be honored in the US. Nigerians are excited and are anxious of the different good this promises Nigeria in this dispensation. Unfortunately different drums sound in my little black head.


The American Government refused to help the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan led administration in the fight against insurgency. For a country championing affairs in the front of the global war on terror, it was worrisome to me. When the US finally announced support for Nigeria against in its fight against Boko Haram, the story of the ‘D Day’ during the Second World War 2 came to my head, “the Calvary is coming!!!”

What happened next? America started making flimsy excuses refusing to working with the supposedly “infiltrated” Nigerian military. After ties and alliance with the Chadian and Cameroonian military, the US sneaked out of the battle field with intel, No Drones fire, No tanks, No shells, No choppers, No Booths on ground, no Intel shared, no military base set up.
In a yet to be understood move the Obama led administration took sides with the opposition and saw to its victory in the last election, a candidate the clearly condemned after 2011 election.
President Obama’s support for GMB and his political party APC in their Campaign against the administration led by GEJ is stale gist for the political enthusiast. The helping hands extended towards our honorable President by Obama and other western Government in recent times reiterates that fact. Three days ago, South Africa released the private jet and controversial 15million dollars involved in the illegal arms deal to Nigeria by the previous administration. All appears fine and rosy now.

It is common knowledge that America’s philosophy on foreign policy secures the American interest paramount, and the US is not known to sow seeds on infertile soil. On Monday, the Nigerian Pilot quoted the US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Linda Thomas-Greenfield as saying,
“As a policy, we will continue to press the government of Nigeria, as well as other governments which have provided legislation that discriminates against the LGBT community…This is very much a work in progress, but I think you will agree with me that the law in Nigeria really went far in discriminating against this community, but also people who associate with them.
“So we will continue to press the government, to press the legislature to change these laws and provide human rights for all Nigerian people, regardless of their sexual orientation.”

To wrap it up, she said “…..so we are prepared to push this as a policy, not just in Africa but across the world.”

Spokesperson to President Muhammad Buhari, Femi Adesina (also famous for his loose-tongue personality on twitter Nigeria), is alleged to have further escalated the fear in many Nigerians, that the Government has plans to repeal the Same-sex Marriage Prohibition Act passed into law by the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan administration.
In a press statement released on Wednesday, the Presidential spokesperson stated emphatically that Buhari’s talks with Obama would only focus on security, trade and economic ties.
My Questions are, what will Obama be pulling out of the hat this time?
1 Setting Up a permanent military base in Nigeria to fight Boko Haram and subsequently police Africa from the giant Nigeria, in exchange for oil?
2 Enforcing Gay laws in Nigeria in exchange for Security Aids.
3 Push economic, security, and trade ties to keep Nigeria Dependent on the US, rather than on self.
4 Keep Nigeria fighting and at the mercy foreign aid and arms (Divide and rule)
