Why are they arresting them? They went for prayers, just send them for rehabilitation and later re-intergration.

Majority of the crisis in this country can be linked to herders clashing with farmers.

A law needs to be enacted to curb the movement of cattle in bushes but rather they should be ranched.

Government should create incentives for herdsmen who embrace ranching and stipulate stiff penalties for those who default including the confiscation of thier cows.

In every state Forest guards should be trained to patrol the forest and in conjunction with the security agencies round up those roaming in forest.

This will make it hard for kidnappers and bandits to operate as freely as they are doing today.

Dickson approached INEC in 2017 to register his party, the NDC.

INEC for reasons best known to them refused to accept Dickson's application on the flimsy excuse that the NDC logo looked like another registered party's logo .

Dickson took them to court and INEC was stalling using every legal loophole and trick to postpone or adjourn the hearings.

The court got fed up with INEC and called for accelerated hearings.

When INEC could not present a registered party in their records bearing similar logo, they then went to manufacture a fake entity with same logo that was not even representing itself as a political party. INEC claimed copyright infringement as to why they can't register NDC.

The judge requested further information of the entity bearing similar logo as per CAC registration but INEC could not provide this in court.

The court then ruled that INEC had no right to stop NDC from being registered citing copyright infringement of a non existing entity and ordered INEC to register NDC immediately.

The reason INEC is affixing "by court order" next to NDC is because the ruling was retroactively applied to NDC to be registered as at 2017 before the electoral ammended Act of 2022 came into law in 2023.

NDC did not meet the conditions for a new party that will seek registration under the 2023 Act but since they were denied by INEC to be registered on flimsy excuse in 2017, the judge ruled that NDC should be registered under pre 2022 Act since they met all the conditions back then.


This is to avoid other parties taking INEC and NDC to court seeking the NDC being deregistered for not meeting the conditions of being registered as a new party under the ammended electoral Act of 2022.

The children in Oyo have been missing one month. One full month. A maths teacher was beheaded. A 2 year old was taken. And what is the federal government's answer? Coordination. Meetings. Press releases. Tactical waiting.

The problem is simple. Our forests are ungoverned. Nobody lives there except terrorists. No checkpoints. No patrols. No consequences. A man can stay in Omo Forest for six months with 40 hostages and nobody comes for him.

Fix the forest first.

Create a proper militarized forest service. Not park rangers with whistles. Soldiers. Armed, trained, with drones and thermal cameras and orders to shoot. Station them across every major forest corridor in Nigeria. Make the bush dangerous for criminals, not safe.

Harden the borders at flashpoints. Oyo-Kwara, Oyo-Benin Republic corridors. Electronic surveillance. Physical barriers. Make entry and exit difficult.

Build a border force that actually fights. Not customs officials checking bags at a gate.

Find the sponsors. Follow the guns. Brand new AK-47s don't grow in forests. Somebody is importing them. Somebody is moving them in trailers to the bush. Find that person. That politician. That government official. Arrest him and try him publicly.

Now the hard truth.

Change the hostage policy. Make it official government position that terrorists holding hostages will be neutralised regardless. Yes, even if hostages die in the process.

I know how that sounds. But hear the logic.

Right now terrorists take children BECAUSE it works. Government panics, negotiates, pays. Repeat. The child is not a victim to them. The child is a business tool. Remove the tool's value and the business changes.

The moment government announces that hostage taking will be met with force regardless of outcome, the calculation changes. No ransom. No negotiation. Just bullets. Suddenly a child is no longer a shield. Suddenly the risk is too high.

Painful policy. But the alternative is what we have now. Children taken every month, ransoms paid every month, more guns bought every month, more children taken next month.

And hear this clearly. If this thing is not crushed now, it will reach you. Yes, you reading this in Lagos, Ibadan, Abuja. Right now it is Oriire, Ekiti, Kwara border. Give it two years of this same negotiation and delay and it will be your street. Your child's school gate.

Insurgencies don't stay in one place. They follow where government is weak. And right now government is very weak everywhere.

The solution is not complicated. Govern the forests. Harden the borders. Change the hostage policy. Jail the sponsors.

But all of it needs one thing we don't have.

A government willing to accept short term pain for long term peace. Willing to let some hostages die today so thousands are safe tomorrow. Willing to arrest a senator if he funded terrorists.

Until somebody has that kind of guts, we will keep burying teachers and releasing statements.

As it stands today APC wins.... Hands down. The opposition are not serious.

How will he be voted out when the people protesting have no pvc?
How will they get Pvc when Inec is frustrating the process with no network?
Several people who even have pvc have checked and thier names are no longer on the portal. How will these ones vote.
In 15 days the time to register new pvc will elapse.

Then where is the credible opposition that is poised to take over? The opposition that only primaries conducted and they are all fighting themselves.
If they get into power It may be a case of the devil you know is better than that angel you do not know.

There is no network in INEC server to register new pvc for days now. And this distraction protest will keep people engaged till the time to get pvc expires.

Keep your eyes on the ball.

What about government officials that negotiate with bandits. As early as 2weeks ago video emerged of bandits meeting with state government officials in a northern state in a peace meeting with terrorists.

And they are still granting amnesty and negotiating with the Bandits.

Anyone moving cows in the forest that is not his own should be treated like a terrorist.

Cashless policy. Reduce physical cash. So that bandits can't get ransom payments in cash.

National database. In many countries you must carry your ID around without an ID you can be detained and deported. People move freely in Nigeria without any form of identity. Bandits display thier faces freely online because they are not in any database.

Details of Movement of people at motor Parks, Airports, seaports hotels should be monitored by security agents.

Surveillance cameras should be mounted in public places like city centers and linked to hubs. Drones should be used routinely to survey forests and check illegal activities there.

No negotiation with kidnappers. A sad story of a young girl who was kidnapped and then asked to call her father for ransom. She told her father not to pay anything as she can't live with herself as she was r*ped each night. The kidnappers killed her on the spot. There are several instances of after collecting a ransom the Bandits end up killing the abducted.

The government needs to see the dangers of negotiating with kidnappers. It never ends well. Once the security agencies have a zero tolerance for bandits and they know that there be no negotiations with them kidnapping will reduce.

The cashless policy is also important to curb large cash movement.

Bandits can disguise themselves and move freely in the forests like herdsmen. No one will suspect a herdsman. End open grazing and reduce the kidnapping issue.

I keep saying it that the opposition are not serious. If it was APC by now INEC would have been feeling serious heat but they are just quiet.
