My question to you is where to draw the line?

If as an adherent of isese, I choose to tie wrapper and chalk up my face, is it up to JAMB to look for a CBT centre at one oritameta somewhere to accommodate my religious dressing?

If a babe worship Namor or Aquaman and dresses in Bikini and G-string to honour her Gods, should JAMB start looking for CBT centre in Atlantis to avoid religious problems?

If that dude that went naked to Bar Beach to pray for Tinubu wants to write Jamb with his nuts hanging unfettered and freely in the breeze, should JAMB tell all CBT centres to allow him to drag his sweaty buttcrack all over their computer lab?

Like brehhhh
Look at where you're going to?? unclothedness

Nobody home and abroad (except maybe America grin) will condone that

These girls are not going to recite Holy Quran in that hall

I agree rules are rules...

We should keep on dividing the country along religious line... it's very good

Who's winning? nobody....or you can say Muslims who have the population advantage

It's a Christian owned school but it doesn't tell Muslim girls to remove their hijab before entering like covenant does

It’s intolerance. Simple.

Hijab is to cover your head, it’s not as if it indecent dressing or something.

They only have problem with the hijab because it show that the person is a muslim.
blantant intolerance...

So even after this election, people cannot take simple lessons...Smh

Again a reminder, Covenant University did not send her back because she was a Muslim. They sent her back because she refused to take off her hijab - Important Distinction.

Can you prove that a Christian girl wearing a Hijab would have been allowed to enter the School?
jeez... it's the hijad not part of her Muslim identity?

Unless we are willing to start building CBTs for JAMB, this is not even going to be considered

Most CBTs are owned by Schools, and if you know the percentage of Faith based schools that are housing undergraduates every year, you'll know that they are doing JAMB a very big favour.

This is interesting...

I currently work (part time) in Christ Academy Cbt centre, a Christian owned Cbt centre in Gwagwalada, Abuja...I set up the computers to ensure they're exam ready. The owner is a pastor

We DON'T drive away hijad wearing Muslim girls

You are going to far

Some Christian ladies do not wear trousers but i have never seen NYSC bend that rule.

If you don't want to wear trousers, go home.

So maybe we should ask NYSC to be more religious tolerant? Pffttt

If you go to a Muslim CBT and you're asked to cover your hair before your write, cover it or go home.

Like Nihilistjnr asked, did she just see CU as her centre on that day? I'm sure you know the answer
everybody wears trousers that's not a good example... seductive dressing is what some people mistake for wearing trousers.

There's nothing seductive about Nysc trousers

The article literally said some girls took the hijab off and were allowed in to write their exam.

They didn't say they don't permit Muslims. I happen to know Fuad Atanda Lawal for example, a practicing Muslim and current LGA chairman for Ikoyi/Obalende is a Covenant Graduate.

What the school said is we don't want Hijab. Same way I'm sure they would have sent Cossy Ijiakor back If she had turned up in a Bikini.

This is a non-starter abeg.
Now... let's turn it around...

You're not allowed to write exam if you're not wearing hijab

I can bet some Christian girls will write exam that day

The question now is how will fellow Christians see those girls? What will they call them? unbelievers?

Easy for you to say

Everywhere has rules bro.

JAMB is an exam, irrespective of your religion or beliefs.

If the school does not accept Hijabi, the onus is on the student to know what is more important; Her exam or Social media noise.

Like i said, I can bet that other Muslim girls wrote that exam and went home.

What does your religion have to do with JAMB?

Why should JAMB care which religion you are when you write exams?

Why is it JAMB that should have basic decency and religious tolerance instead of the Hijabi going to a Church?
You just made my point grin

Jamb don't care about religion, so should their centres

An hijab wearing, red clothe tieing candidate should be allowed to write exams.

JAMB will approve a shrine as long it has the CBT gadgets.

It is Covenant or the Mosque that equipped it themselves. JAMB did not give them 1 naira to buy those computers

So telling JAMB or WAEC to select where they use for CBTs is just trying to frustrate the process. There are not much around.

They should be accommodating then...this is a national exam for all Nigerians

Have you been to covenant University before?

Do you know the lay of the land?

You literally have to drive a couple miles through Church premises to get to their academic buildings

Bro as far as I'm concerned, if she was there to write exams and not looked for trouble, she would have removed the hijab.

Ansarudeen school is up the road from CU in that same Ota. She should have gone there.
Lol...will you allow your daughter to wear hijab in other to write exam?

OK, tell the hijabi to open a Mosque CBT centre to help her fellow oppressed.

Or tell her to just stay in ile keu.
You're not understanding...Jamb will not approve a Church or a Mosque as CBT centre.

Covenant was presented as a school not a church... Living faith is the church

And if they claim covenant as a Church too... then Jamb should look into this and probably revoke their lincense

Personally I think the onus is on JAMB to stop posting admission seekers to the school to write exams in their CBT center going forward .

Like u rightly pointed out, Canaan land is situated in a church premises . Since the church that owns the premises has a standing order to not allow adherents of the Islam faith to wear hijab within the premises , it is JAMB that should do the needful of not using their CBT center to conduct its exams in order to be fair to all admission seekers including Muslims , non religious people and Christian’s who do not even share Winners kinda doctrines
apt

Let's be real here - you can't even post on NL Islamic thread without automatically swearing an Islamic oath on your profile, consent be damned.

You and I both know, there's no female entering any mosque anywhere in the world without wearing a hijab.

Let's not over-complicate things abeg. This woman wore a hijab to a Church...I'm sorry, that was just stüpid.
You can't have a church as CBT centre... it's bs

If winners chapel was to be the Cbt centre Jamb won't approve it....Jamb won't approve any mosque as Cbt centre either.

They presented a school NOT a church

Covenant doesn't advertise as a non-sectarian school though.

For me, the concept is very simple. Covenant University is in Canaanland Ota, on the premises of one of the biggest Church auditoriums in the world.

The owners of the premises have as much right to practice their religion as the Hijabi has to practice hers.

Why should a Hijabi go to a Church and insist on practicing her own religion there? That's the height of religious intolerance.
As per the issue on ground, the students did not go to Jamb to request covenant as their centre... Jamb randomly put them there.

I live in Abuja and see Christian girls write exams in Muslim owned centres in Suleja, Mandala... without harassment

Every parent (muslim Christian, traditional) wants the best education for their kids that money can buy.

But the fact is convenant advertises itself, packages itself and presents itself as a christian university. And practising aggressive Christianity is at the centre of its existence.

If you decide you must go there, you clearly will not identify as a Muslim for the period you are there.

As long as oyedepo is alive this Christian only policy will be set in stone.

I always scratch my head when I read about Muslims complaining they were turned away from convenant
We need to understand something very important...

No Muslim will go to covenant for schooling, they were there to write jamb mock and when jamb place people to centres, they do it randomly... nobody have the time to check religion before placing you in covenant.

Christians will definitely write in Muslim owned centres and imagine the outrage when they stop people from writing exams because they they're NOT putting on hijabs

Maybe people will start giving Wike the credit he deserves.

For all his misgivings, one thing you can't take from him is that he is a brilliant politician.
In the space of one month Wike won elections for Apc and then for Pdp singlehandedly with each of them having a significant margin.

He just showed to Atiku and the rest of Pdp how mighty he is.

i've always said it that Eric will cook as a DM. He has the passing range, awareness and intelligence to thrive there. He mightn't turn out to be as good as Busquets, but i believe he'll be good enough for the job and can even be better than zubimendi.
Mehn... his over the top balls are superb...he might just take over from Busquets because I don't see how we're going to sign Zubimendi.

Busquets will probably renew on a lower salary and Eric might just play second fiddle to him and learn more. Xavi is already playing him as Dm in training

He has no competition in the African/Nigerian rap industry..

He is not in the same genre as davido/wizkid/burna
It all boils down to the market... Wizkid once said something about rappers and they dragged him but what he said is not far from the truth

Rap is dying a slow death in Nigeria...Rap is second tier and Nigerians just don't care anymore...look at MI, Vector, Erigga... etc

Not soo long ago. Wike boldly proclaimed war against a rival group in the state.

"We must remove all these BUCCANEERS and VAMPIRES in the state".

This was a direct threat to opposition groups in the State.

Cultism has become a negative cultural issue in the state. Young boys as young as 13 to 16 are initiated right there in secondary schools.

Cult groups now have versios for younger ones. You hear junior Vikings (JVC), junior bagga's. Young egede. They indoctrinate them right from their youths and give them a false sense of belonging and brotherhood.
Rivers is home to one of the deadliest cult group in Nigeria...SVC

But some people can defend poop... so I'm not bothered
