Liman Kantigi, the People Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Niger State, has vowed that the party will not allow the March 11 governorship election in the state to be rigged.


Kantigi told journalists in Minna that the presidential election last Saturday was clearly rigged in favor of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.



He did, however, promise that the governorship election in the North-Central state would be a different story because Nigerians are fully prepared for local elections.

“We will not allow any rigging of the governorship election on March 11, and we will not allow the BVAS Machine to be bypassed as they did last Saturday,” he said.

INEC The Independent National Electoral Commission has said it is happy with the arrangements done as such a long ways in front of the 2023 races.

The INEC Administrator, Mahmood Yakubu, made the statement Tuesday while talking at the Chatham House, London.

"We have guaranteed Nigerians and companions of Nigerians that the 2023 general political race will be free, free and trustworthy and we have investigated every possibility in getting ready for it.
"However, as with all races, particularly those requiring the broad public sending as we do in Nigeria, it will normally accompany difficulties.
"We have worked intimately with partners and advancement accomplices to face these difficulties and we are happy with our arrangements up to this point."
