Do you realize what you have above? Did you read it, digest it before posting? You don't even believe in your own idea of FAIR but you preach it to someone else? VI and IKeja also have slums. Why post just the good pictures and ignore the bad and ugly of those same places?
i was never aware of the bolded bit,
now that i am aware (if you don't mind but could you oblige me with pictures? and names of the areas) i'll remember to call people to order.

All of this is down to what i've been clamoring for, when people post pictures, they might as well let the viewing audience know what angle the pictures are coming from.

YEAH RIGHT!

That don't even look real, who you people  trying to F_00l.

you got dirt roads and dirt floors for homes.
hold up, you're always up to write nigerians down but aren't you also west african?
you back talk africans and blacks when you feel so confident, but. . .
never mind, the word 'self-hater' just dropped into my consciousness.
Stop showing us HD pictures. Let us see the real thing because aint nowhere in Nigeria that looks like this.
HD or not, the place exists. No amount of 'HD-ness' can take away from the existence of a thing.
If i use an HD camera to take a picture of dung, does that take away from the fact that it is a picture of dung?
PoliticsRe: Wetin Man Go Do: Naija In Pictures by bluespice(f): 11:01pm On Jan 17, 2010
Kobojunkie:
It is in the archives but I am certain someone will dig it out soon. That thread had mostly pictures of VI and IKEJA  areas that look good on it. Now, if you know Lagos well, you would know those places make up a small area compared to the rest of Lagos and the population in those places is nothing compared to the rest of Lagos. So again, why is it WRONG to show the other places that don't look like VI and Ikeja nice areas?
okay let's get this out of the way, showing progression is never wrong, if you create a topic on VI and ikeja, who am i to ask for pictures of ajegunle (even though i hear it's being improved now but that's a totally different topic)?

If however you create a topic on Nigeria as a whole and proceed to post pictures of the slum from a very very small group of states or local governments, i will have a problem with you.

I give up on you kobosomnsomn, you seem to be having selective understanding of what i'm saying and i mean this in the most respectful way,

i'll state my point once and for all:
if you are posting pictures of a place, be fair don't post only the good or bad pictures, give a good representation of what an outsider will meet.

pls try not to defend the person, he was very very ignorant. So many people have no idea what parts of the world look like. don't get me started on those that argue with me about countries i've lived in.

Can I turn this around and ask you why you do not want these pictures posted. Shame? I mean why not post them? If you go on the Federal Ministry of Education’s site, you will see pictures of dilapidated schools. The reason why those pictures are put up there is so people can see and probably help. So yes, actually helps development.
Do we ALWAYS have to show the process of development in pictures?

Crucifying ALL foreigners for the ignorance of the few is immature, don’t you think?

But Naija in all her glory ought to include the bad and the ugly of it. Don’t you think? Or are we in shame to hide the bad and ugly for some reason? What you have up there takes me back to how we would hide the beggars, and the poor when foreign delegates visit  our states. Is this really how we show Naija in ALL her glory?

note the question marks
ma'am let's get this straight
i have no problems with the pictures, i have a problem with his motive

i have never ever said i crucified anyone for another's actions i believe you need to re-read my post.

They show pictures of dilapidated schools when they need help, they show pictures of 'regular' beautiful schools when showing what many schools also look like.
i lived in lagos and i can say that very few schools were actually like this when i was there, most of the schools that look like this are in the rural areas.

i have one question,
what is the aim of posting these pictures?
does it in anyway help to improve development?
shoot does it even show the process of development?
yet we go all gung-ho when foreigners have this warped idea of what the whole nation looks like.
If you indeed want to show 'naija' in all her glory,
i'lld suggest you get even here
there are so many beautiful and butt ugly places in nigeria
similar to EVERY country i've been to
