Stephen Keshi led the Super Eagles to the second round of the 2014 World Cup and while many consider that as a success – maybe because of the many failures since 1998; you just need to look again (without the tension) at the matches that they lost. - See more at: http://.com/the-need-for-keshi-to-be-given-another-four-year-contract#sthash.3RyJA02Q.dpuf |

Nigeria will continue to suffer regression in world football (not a curse but a fact) because of poor management of the talents that are actually discovered quite young on these shores. Germany have reaped the result of a concerted effort to make their footballers better than others in the world and the centre-piece of the strategy was to make sure that their players are well educated. One of the players that surprisingly made the 23-man Super Eagles team to Brazil is Ramon Azeez. The player had just two caps before been named as a starter against Iran in the Super Eagles’ World Cup opener on June 16 – a match that ended 0-0. He did not play another match for the team until he was shown warming up and preparing to replace the injured Ogenyi Onazi against France in the round of 16. He never got unto the pitch as the Technical team apparently had a change of heart and sent on Reuben Gabriel instead. - See more at: http://.com/exclusive-brazil-2014-is-in-the-past-now-ramon-azeez#sthash.SVNMrofd.dpuf |
In 2010, FIFA suspended Nigeria briefly because of government interference but four years on the country is risking another FIFA ban, as the same scenario is about to play out or be played out. The scenario that played out after the World Cup in South Africa on the Ismaila Sani Lulu-led Nigeria Football Federation board mirrors exactly what is about to play out on the Aminu Maigari-led board. - See more at: http://.com/the-nigerian-political-football-game-the-winners-and-the-losers#sthash.plQJ0QC3.dpuf |

The 2014 World Cup ended for the Super Eagles on the last day of June 2014 against Les Bleus of France, but for 78 minutes, they stood toe to toe with the former World and European champions. And the reality is just dawning and like taking a bath of cold shower on a Harmattan morning, everything looks much clearer but knowing Nigerian football and its administrators, a scapegoat will be needed to hang the blame of not being able to advance past the Round of 16 on. - See more at: http://.com/keshi-nff-and-diverse-accusations-and-hypocrisies#sthash.urI91NjG.dpuf |
