Both local and international students in Canada pay fees to attend university. Note that the average tuition costs vary by province and program type. As indicated by the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada, there are well over 90 universities in Canada. Statistics Canada’s university tuition report indicates that Ontario students face the highest tuition rates in the country, topping Nova Scotia, which previously held the title.

Undergraduates

For admission into Swedish universities, applicants are to use the centralized University Admissions application portal, Universityadmissions.se.Note that University is free for Swedish citizens and citizens of EU countries. The UK operates a centralized university admissions service which handles all undergraduate applications –it is called the University and College Admissions Service (UCAS). Note that this can take the form of a ‘conditional offer’ which means the place is yours if you satisfy the specified admissions criteria, or an ‘unconditional offer’ which means you’ve already reached their criteria. If you’re unlucky, you’ll receive either a ‘withdrawn application’ response, which means either you or the university has withdrawn your course choice, or an ‘unsuccessful application’ response, which means the university has decided not to offer you a place. You might be able to add another choice if you've received decisions from all five universities or colleges and were not accepted, or if you declined the offers you received.

For schools, English language centers, most further education courses and some postgraduate courses, there is no centralized application system, so you’ll need to apply directly to the institution providing the course. You can usually find application forms on the website.

(1) Undergraduate Degree

You’ll require an undergraduate degree as a starting point. Note that this undergraduate degree does not necessarily have to be in a business related subject. Interestingly, many schools aim to recruit a student body with a range of academic backgrounds. Be prepared to provide official transcripts as evidence of your degree.

(2) Work Experience

A further requirement is evidence of significant professional work experience. MBAs are viewed as a tool for career progression or change. It’s rare that schools will accept a candidate immediately following completion of their undergraduate degree. This should contain information about your personality, work ethic, leadership potential, academic record, professional experience and career accomplishments.

You will, however, be required to register with the local Residents’ Registration Office in order to obtain a residence permit. How to Apply

Because universities in Colombia teach in Spanish, applicants will be required to submit evidence that they speak Spanish to the required level, or to take a language test set by the university.

Studying in Costa Rica

Study fees vary widely between different universities in Costa Rica, while cost of living is likely to range between US$500 and US$700 per month, depending on how you live life. You can expect to pay US$380 to US$470 per month for a standard apartment, although university residences and flat shares will be cheaper.

Over the last few years, the World Bank has committed to strengthening higher education in Costa Rica, aiming to improve access for international students as well as quality of facilities, teaching, research and the system as a whole. How to Apply to Universities

Note that to apply for admission to study in Egypt, you’ll need an American high school diploma or equivalent qualification, and to provide proof of English proficiency by taking the TOEFL or a similar exam, if you’re a non-native speaker studying in English.

For more info, you can find the exact admission requirements on the official website of the Egyptian university you’re applying to, but for example, non-Egyptian applicants to the American University in Cairo must also submit the following:

An authentic photocopy of passport;
Most recent medical report showing your physical and mental capability of completing university-level work;
A bank statement showing the applicant or sponsor has at least US$31,000 in credit to cover tuition fees and living costs, or proof that you’ve received a scholarship;
Official transcript of secondary school qualifications;
Proof of having completed at least 12 years of primary and secondary education;
An essay of 300-500 words explaining how the applicant will benefit from education at AUC.
Once accepted, students will be required to show proof of fully comprehensive medical insurance.

Student Visas

To gain entry into the country, a tourist visa can be obtained from your nearest Egyptian embassy. This will be upgraded to a student visa after you’ve entered Egypt – check with the embassy and your university for advice and assistance on this. Many universities will guide you through the process once you have paid your fees and fully enrolled. The visa application form should be available through your chosen institution.

You’ll typically need to demonstrate the following when you apply for your student visa:

A confirmed place at an Egyptian university;
Adequate funds in place to support yourself during your studies;
You have registered with the local police station with seven days of arrival in Egypt;

University Requirements
