Don't know if i should call it bad investment or recession effect because i lost my boutique that i started with 1m to recession and now I'm left with nothing. You go market today buy two normal shirts for 2k each, bring them to shop and sell them for 2500 each making 1k profit, then u go market two days later to get the same shirts and they tell u is 3200 each. Ofcourse i won't want to travel back empty handed, i will just have to take from the reserve to add to the money and buy something home. Now, to sell it nah the wahala....sometimes you just have to sell these wears at the purchased price or even lower just to have something to feed because customers were not buying like before (due to recession) and as boutique business is not an everyday business. Then by april 2017, no money to run the shop, reserve dried up, had to lay off sales girl and went to borrow 200k from a friend(a lady) because i wasn't ready to give up yet. I managed to return 100k to her before i just had to close the shop last year December because it wasn't just working anymore. Now, I'm jobless, really depressed and hopeless as there is no where to get money to start a new business.....Funny enough the lady called me yesterday that she needs her 100k that things has not been easy for her and her husband for some months now and she also has some debts to pay too that i should please get her some money by the end of this month and that she's sorry to call me (i think because I've once helped her and her huban too) but that she doesn't have anywhere to go to again. I just smiled and said no problem, I've been more depressed since yesterday because sincerely there is no way i could afford to give her any cash this month. One of the lessons i learnt from this is that the best business to do is the one that guarantees some amount of income everyday....e.g Raw foods (one of the reasons Dangote group of companies can never run down, i think). |
