This morning I received a WhatsApp audio call from a guy who says his name is MR JOHNSON. He was a member of a particular WhatsApp group I joined recently.

He told me there was going to be a virtual Whatsapp meeting on the group for all participants later in the evening (but there was no notice from the admin of something as such even though it was a closed WhatsApp group)

Seeing this observation, I played along and told him I will be available for the meeting since it's on the group. He then told me to record my participation and confirm my availability to this meeting on the group, I need to call out a 6-digit code which was immediately displayed on my WhatsApp screen( I don't know how he did it, I just saw a 6-digit code from WhatsApp).

When I tried to play along, he was already shouting that I should call out the codes and immediately I ended the call, blocked and reported his contact. I also shared this experience with the group admin to warn other members whom he might be targeting.

Why would someone just wake up in the morning and just decide to scam people and now with this new trend in town, innocent people will fall,.lose their WhatsApp account or their contact being extorted for money and any bad agenda these scammers have.

Please let's all be guided.

Depends on what country your PayPal account is situated, you might need a US bank account or UK bank account to withdraw funds
