Touching image of couple found embracing in the rubble of collapsed factory in Bangladesh. With rubble, dust and metal strewn around, the lifeless woman is seen doubled backwards as the man tenderly wraps his arms around her. Reams of light-blue clothing material – which would have been made in the garment factory – wrap around the wreckage as a trail of blood runs from the man’s eyes.

WHY THE NOISE ABOUT BBN? An average youth want to explore, enjoy and live a life without warning. What makes the show interesting beyond the car and millions of naira is the quest for popularity. Now if Government has failed in putting a comfortable reward system in education and sport, what are the churches or mosques doing? We spend millions for crusade and revival, convention, harvest and what have you. Fine and good! How many youth-focus programme do we put in place? If as a church or mosque you have say N200m in the bank, why not write a proposal for a reality show that will make youth learn leadership, value system, critical thinking and good relationship? We think it is not spiritual. Will anyone stay in the church or mosque forever? Will they not return to same messed society and continue to relate? Somebody conceive BBN show, let the churches and mosques come up with something. There was a celebration of the god of the mars before Christians came up with Christmas same day of December 25th. If it is Big Brother Nigeria, let there be Big Future show or Leadership reality show. I am sure Multichoice have Christians in the management. Those corporate bodies source for fund from the people. The Church that can mobilize N500m for crusade or auditorium should not find it difficult to raise N100m for youth-focused programme. It is a matter of priority. In Africa,Churches often react instead of responding. The last time I checked, there are many channels on DSTV and GOTV. There is no law or rule that says you must tune to Big Brother. Deuteronomy 30:19 says, ' This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live'. The ball is in your court! Xeroxed from my fb wall |
The much talked about Coalition for Nigeria proposed by the former president Gen.(Dr.) Olusegun Obasanjo. Retrd, has just been launched with some bigwigs from the two prominent political parties in Nigeria (PDP and APC). From the narratives, it seems the talisman Obasanjo is cooking up something again. Is he trying to "Duke" us? |
