InvestmentThe Ethereum Merge Is Upon Us — Here’s What To Know by breetapp(op): 4:44pm On Sep 07, 2022
Hey Breet Gang,

It’s not news that the Crypto community has waited a while now for this moment, and it’s FINALLY close! wink

But, just in case you’ve been living under Olumo rock, or all the Merge talk has been difficult to understand, Breet is here to break it down! shocked

The Ethereum Merge (also known as Ethereum 2.0) has been slated to occur between the 6th-20th of September. The final ‘Bellatrix’ upgrade before the Merge occurred yesterday – on Tuesday – so all is set! grin

But let’s rewind:

The upcoming Merge aims to improve the efficiency of Ethereum by switching from Proof-of-Work to Proof-of-Stake (which is more energy-efficient and scalable).

What does this mean? huh

If you’d like to get the full gist in simple details, here’s a link to the full gist on our blog so you can read all about it. wink

Until next time, be good!
- Somebody from Breet.

BusinessWhich Naija Celebrity Is Crypto-inclined? by breetapp(op): 5:00pm On Aug 30, 2022
Hey Breet Gang,

Mid-week is here, and so is your Tuesday dose of Breet! wink

Now let’s get into the gist:

If there’s one thing Nigerian celebrities do an excellent job at, it's to carry our name to the global map and prove to the rest of the world that we’re not behind; and we have to stan! grin

Let’s recognize some of our favourite celebrities killing it in the Crypto space, shall we?

1. It’s Don Jazzy Again!

The Nigerian music producer is big on NFTs, and the Mavin Record boss has shown off his collection which includes Bored Ape Yacht Club, Afrodriods, Cool Cat, Superkongs and more to his Instagram followers.

Like a true boss, he’s had a collaboration with leading Nigeria NFT Crypto-artist Osinachi for an NFT Collabo Debut that sold out on Niftygateway!

Sometime in December 2021, Don Jazzy also revealed that he’d earned a whopping $300k in just 10 minutes from NFT - bruh!

2. Tacha - No Leave No Transfer

If you thought women were being left behind in the Crypto world, shine ya eye o (BBN fans would understand cool).

The Big Brother Season Six contestant Tacha Akide, is one of the most vocal female NFT enthusiasts in Nigeria, and the Crypto community on Twitter especially would agree, as she partners with new NFT projects for promotions and even does whitelist giveaways on a regular!

Tacha has signed multiple endorsements with Tech/Crypto brands across the country and Africa; we’re definitely looking forward to seeing more women in Crypto!

3. Papa Imade - Who Dey Breet?

Once upon a time, Papa Imade gave us the slang “e choke”, and it didn’t end there!

While we still dey breet, Nigerian artist Davido took a dip into the Crypto space after that slang went viral and launched his own social token, $Echoke late last year. With this token, holders are expected to enjoy some exclusive benefits (Team 30BG, show yourselves!) like access to giveaways, NFTs, merchandise and entertainment benefits.

Davido has also hinted at starting a Bitcoin company in a tweet (fingers crossed) and has signed endorsement deals with Crypto brands in the past.

Crypto might still have a long way to go over here, but a good number of the biggest names in Nigeria are keeping up with the Crypto space and making an impact, and we know they deserve some accolades; in Daddy Wa’s voice, they’re doing well!

Stay jiggy kiss

BusinessThis Dude Lost BTC Worth Over £200M! by breetapp(op): 5:26pm On Aug 25, 2022
Hey Breet Gang,

The weekend is upon us and as usual, it’s storytime by somebody from Breet  cool

Before we begin – have you ever lost some cash (maybe the time you forgot your 500 Naira with that bus conductor that kept saying ‘calm down, I go find you change’) and couldn’t stop vexing about it for the rest of the week? huh

Now, imagine losing the password to a crypto account with £200,000,000 in it!

We wish we made this story up, but this was the bad luck German bitcoin trader, Stefan Thomas had.

He put away £100,000 worth of BTC, and ten years later, it had gone up to £200,000,000 in total.

Unfortunately, after all that time, he’d lost the password to the hard drive where the keys to his digital wallet was. All that money? POOF, gone!

This trader tried everything to recover that money (who wouldn’t?), but unfortunately, nothing worked embarassed

The Moral Of The Story?

Don't let life shock you like this; some passwords are too costly to lose!

Don’t wait till you’re about to convert some of your bitcoin to cash with Breet, and then start searching hundreds of documents for your login details; it can end in premium tears! Your crypto can be processed in minutes with us, so don’t be the reason for the delay.

Meanwhile, talking about stress-free withdrawals, did you get the gist yet?

Our newest feature – Automatic Settlement – allows us to process each of your transactions with Breet automatically. This means faster withdrawals for YOU!

Until next time – stay sharp, and have a great weekend!

BusinessThe Rise Of Cryptocurrency Market In Africa by breetapp(op): 6:04pm On May 28, 2022
Africa's cryptocurrency market has grown by over $100 billion in the last year, making Africa a target investment for the crypto market in years to come.

Africa is the second most populated continent in the world with an estimated population of 1.4 billion people. Africa's population is the youngest among other continents with a median age of 19.7, which is 10.7 less than the global median age.

About 60% of Africa's population is below the age of 25, making African youths the promising key to sustainable development in the continent.

Due to past histories like colonialism, civil wars and harsh terrains, African countries have suffered from poverty, poor growth and extreme economic loss and crisis for a long time.

Nonetheless, the underdevelopment in infrastructure has made Africa a big vector for cryptocurrency, which only requires a smartphone and network connection to gain access to blockchain networks. As well as basic crypto knowledge, which can be acquired from relevant crypto blogs.

In the last year, about a 1,200 per cent increase in crypto value had been accounted for, in Africa alone. According to Chainalysis Insights, Africa has top peer-to-peer(p2p) payment platforms in terms of transaction volume across all regions. As of 2022, over 35% of the Nigerian population has traded cryptocurrency in the last six months.

Central banks in most African countries like Kenya and Nigeria have been hostile to cryptocurrency exchanges, leaving crypto traders in Africa to deploy P2P platforms as the only viable solution, unless they use VPNs to access servers in other countries, which can be inconvenient for many. In December 2015, the Central Bank of Kenya issued a warning to Kenyans to stop the trade of bitcoins. In 2017, the Central Bank of Nigeria banned all banks from using, holding, trading and transacting in cryptocurrency.

Despite the challenges projected to stop the trade of cryptocurrency in Africa, the crypto market keeps growing. Many African developers have created various crypto trading apps in Africa to support crypto trading, with each having its significant purposes.

Breet, an OTC crypto trading platform was designed to automatically convert and withdraw your cryptocurrency to money straight to your local bank account privately, without the use of an open public sector.

Other crypto platforms like Remitano and Quidax were designed for the buying and selling of Bitcoin, Ethereum and other crypto coins in Africa. Foreign crypto platforms like Binance and Coinbase have also made their platforms accessible to African crypto traders.

The cryptocurrency world in Africa is growing rapidly with many blogs to learn more about bitcoin, crypto latest news and crypto prices.

The NFTs Community is also developing in Africa, especially in Nigeria. Just last week (as of April 14), a Nigerian coffin dance meme was sold for over $1 million, likewise, the artwork of an old man was traded for over $1 million as well.

With a consistent increase in Africa's cryptocurrency market, it is projected that Africa may be leading the industry in the next 10 years. Over 52% of Africa's population is under 25 years of age, the youth population have an immense opportunity for optimistic changes in building the Africa of tomorrow.
BusinessHow To Secure Your Mental Health As A Crypto & Nft Trader by breetapp(op): 11:56am On May 09, 2022
As a Cryptocurrency or NFT trader, it’s important to be aware of the potential impact that the volatile markets can have on your mental health. It is now very common for Web3 traders to hop into crypto and/or NFT trading without understanding the emotional impact it may cause you. You see why your head is always hot?

Here's how you can secure your mental health:

1. Learn to Ignore FOMO (FEAR OF MISSING OUT)

Just because you missed out on a big NFT project or didn't invest in a rising cryptocoin doesn't mean you should kill yourself. You can't be that lucky to eat from every win. Chill, drink water and get ready for the next big project.

2. Make a Plan and Stick to it

I know you're a crypto master, but that doesn't mean you should be trading 24/7. Create a trading plan for yourself and obey it. Web3 trading can be inviting, but be sure to discipline yourself. Trading too often can lead to anxiety and stress.

3. Invest wisely and don't be greedy

Oga investor! Yes, you reading! Just because you made some money from crypto or hit a big catch in NFT doesn't mean you have arrived. Be bumble and sit down. Also, web3 traders are wise traders, don't be foolish. Don't put too much money you can't afford to lose. The more you put your life savings, the higher your blood pressure. No say I no warm you!

4. Take breaks

Spending all day glued to your computer screen can be mentally draining. Make sure to take breaks throughout the day, and try to get outside for some fresh air whenever possible.

Whether you’re an experienced trader or not, a project founder, an artist, or a novice, you have likely felt the stress at some point in your crypto or NFT experience. Mental breakdown is inevitable in the Web3 world, but traders need to understand how to control them. Remember, only the living beings can trade! If you die, no more grinding O! grin

BusinessWhy Is Ethereum Special? And Can It Beat Bitcoin? by breetapp(op): 5:10pm On Apr 27, 2022
Launched in July 2015, #Ethereum is the largest and most well-established, open-ended decentralized software platform.

Ethereum is the largest #altcoin in the crypto market cap. And obviously, it is our baba in NFT Trading. cool

Ethereum enables the deployment of smart contracts and decentralized applications (dApps) to be built and run without any downtime, fraud, control, or interference from a third party. It has its own programming language that runs on a blockchain, enabling developers to build and run distributed applications. A unique feature that Bitcoin doesn't allow! wink

The potentials of Ethereum are wide-ranging and are powered by its native cryptographic token, ether (commonly abbreviated as ETH). Ether is like the fuel for running commands on the Ethereum platform and is used by developers to build and run applications on the platform.

Ether is used mainly for two purposes:

1. It is traded as a digital currency on exchanges in the same fashion as other cryptocurrencies.
2. It is used on the Ethereum network to run applications.

Ethereum as a programmable blockchain finds application in numerous areas, including DeFi, smart contracts, and NFTs. A large number of #NFTs sold in the Ethereum blockchain are often successful and it is reported that $ETH has the fastest transaction speed.

The second-largest #cryptocurrency has shown great potential since its development and many crypto investors are satisfied.

With Ethereum's blockchain technology,  do you think it will beat Bitcoin in years to come?

BusinessPut $100 And Collect $500 Back In 30 Minutes - BEWARE! by breetapp(op): 3:16pm On Mar 16, 2022
“So… If you drop $100, you will get $500 back in 30 minutes”. That was the promise they gave my friend, Akpos, and he believed it, due to his greed to get rich overnight grin

Ponzi scammers are getting smarter, promising an unrealistic amount of money as ROI because that’s what greedy Akpos wants to hear. And there are a lot of them in the crypto space due to the relative anonymity of cryptocurrencies and the high number of newbies.

Some of them use bots to spam Instagram comment sections.

Some even go as far as hacking people’s social media accounts, then sending the ponzi scheme testimonials to their friends and followers, to make it more convincing.

What Am I Saying ?

Take this from somebody that loves you, whenever you see schemes like this, remove your shoes, and run for dear life lipsrsealed

You’d be better off selling your crypto and withdrawing the cash to eat good pepper soup, than losing it to ponzi scammers.

Stay safe fren!

Contrary to what you might be thinking, ‘Breet’ is in no way a derivative of that Davido’s slang ‘Who Dey Breet’ cheesy.

What a funny coincidence.

For the sake of clarity, let’s have a brief introduction… Shall we?

SO, WHAT ON EARTH, IS 'BREET'? huh

Breet is an OTC strictly-spend crypto trading application that allows common users and businesses who ‘just’ need fiat equivalent of their crypto, to get it.

Say you have crypto, and you need real money in exchange, BREET is your guy cool

BIG BIG WORDS... WHAT IS 'OTC'? huh

OVER-THE-COUNTER, which means Breet has a set of predefined trading rates and instructions.

Better put, it’s a more beginner-friendly crypto trading approach that saves you the headache of looking at boring green and red candle bars.

TALKING TOO MUCH... HOW EXACTLY DOES IT WORK?

Practically, Breet users get their personal crypto wallet addresses and can receive cryptocurrency from anywhere in the world.

Without doing anything, the crypto will then be converted to fiat currency automatically.

SO, WHO IS BREET FOR? angry

Any random countryman who wants to get involved, but not get involved, in crypto.

And individuals and businesses who want to convert their cryptocurrencies into cash without really understanding the game or dealing with volatility.

SO... WHO IS BREET NOT FOR? lipsrsealed

The dude looking for where to store his crypto assets. Unless he wants it converted automatically to real money, BREET is not the guy sad

ENOUGH SAID... ANYTHING ELSE? lipsrsealed

Breet currently covers 5 cryptocurrencies ( $BTC, $LTC, $DOGE, $BCH and $ETH )

Breet is currently available in Nigeria and Ghana only.
