drstranged: Apple is once again the world’s most valuable company, with a market value of $3.858 trillion greater than the GDP of many countries. The company’s integration of ChatGPT into its devices has contributed to a surge in its stock, boosting its market cap significantly. However, Apple’s incredible journey highlights the story of one of its co-founders, Ronald Wayne, who once owned a 10% stake in the company. If he had held onto those shares, Wayne would have been the second-richest person in the world today, just behind Elon Musk. Ronald Wayne co-founded Apple alongside Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. At the time, Wayne, aged 42, was much older than his colleagues. Jobs was 25, and Wozniak was 21. Wayne was tasked with overseeing mechanical engineering and documentation for the fledgling company and was rewarded with a 10% stake. Today, those shares would be worth $385 billion, placing him behind only Elon Musk, whose net worth is $451 billion. Jeff Bezos, with a fortune of $244 billion, currently holds second place. A 12-Day Partnership Fate, however, had different plans. Wayne’s confidence in Apple waned within just 12 days. He feared that the loans taken out by Jobs such as a $15,000 loan might burden him personally if the business failed. Unlike Jobs and Wozniak, who had little to lose, Wayne owned a house and other assets. He worried that a failed venture could cost him everything. As a result, Wayne chose to remove his name from the company’s contract and sold his 10% stake to Jobs and Wozniak for a mere $800.
Wayne Has No Regrets Surprisingly, Wayne harbors no regrets over his decision. In a later interview, he said he felt there were limited prospects for him at Apple. “I would have spent the next 20 years in the documentation department reviewing papers,” he remarked. “I was over 40, and they were in their early 20s. For me, it was like being the tail of a lion.” While he accepts his choice, Wayne does admit to one lingering regret. Missing Second Opportunity Years later, Wayne lost a second opportunity to benefit from Apple’s success. In 1976, he had kept Apple’s original founding contract but eventually sold it in 1990 for just $500. Reflecting on the decision, he said, “The contract had been sitting in my drawer collecting dust. I thought, what use is it to me?” In 2011, that same contract was auctioned for $1.59 million.
Wayne’s story serves as a poignant reminder of the unpredictability of decisions in business and life. Very insightful. |

Bobloco: Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, said his party will work tirelessly to ensure that the ruling party, All Progressive Congress, APC, struggles to secure less than 15,000 votes in Kano State.
The former governor of the state said the party would stop at nothing to relegate the party like it rendered the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, struggling to secure only 15,000 votes in the 2023 general elections.
I lost my hands, girlfriend, dad’s landed properties survived depression; but I’m alive’0:09 / 1:00
Kwankwaso made this known while receiving delegates of the NNPP from the Kano North senatorial district at his Miller Road Mansion in Kano.
He acknowledged the hard work of the party during the 2023 elections, which resulted in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) struggling to secure only 15,000 votes in Kano.
He noted that his party, the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), achieved this success despite being a new political platform with a late start to its campaign.
“Now, it’s time to diminish APC’s influence. We will work tirelessly to ensure their votes are reduced to less than 15,000 in Kano by 2027,” Kwankwaso stated.
The former governor emphasised the need for dedication and grassroots mobilisation to solidify the NNPP’s position as a dominant political force in Kano and beyond.
He encouraged his supporters to remain focused on delivering results that would secure the party’s success in future elections.
The leader of the delegates, Abdul Bichi, told journalists the visit was to renew their loyalty to the national leader of the NNPP, Kwankwaso, and to distance themselves from former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr Abdullahi Baffa Bichi.
Abdul said they had parted ways with Dr Bichi since his removal from office.
“It is true we are supporters of the former SSG, and we are from the same constituency as Dr. Abdullahi Baffa Bichi. But we have decided to distance ourselves from him since he is no longer with the government.
“We have come here to see our national leader and founder of Kwankwaso in solidarity and to renew our total loyalty to him. We have come to say we are not leaving our party. We are not going with the SSG,” Abdul said.
Recall that the former SSG, Dr. Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, was alleged to be brain behind a group clamouring for Governor Abba Yusuf to take full control of the government against alleged interference by Kwankwaso, which led to his suspension by the party in the state and subsequently cost him to lose his position (SSG), although the government claimed it was based on health grounds

When leeches on this thread are asked why they shouldn't pay they get tonge tied. They just want to live large on someone's wallet like children 😒.
Please answer this question for me. Do you think the FG should give or sell states their prisons facilities if they agree to take their inmates? Their inmates means individuals they prosecuted for breaking state laws? No wrong answer just curious considering 70% of inmates are state law offenders. No one is selling or giving anyone any prison, no state police will be created, all na cruise on the docile minded electorate. |

vanbonattel: Op, stop this your phobia for state police, it is the only thing that will stop crimes.
Leave the matter of inmates, we will cross that bridge, when we get there. The Eyepobian has added his opinion. As usual upside down. |
Politics › Re: NASS Should Make State Police Expensive For Poor States. by buckeyemedia: 12:51am On Dec 26, 2024 |
Blue3k: NASS should make a law banning the federal government from accepting state law offenders into federal prisons. This hypothetical law will apply to any law enforcement agency created by the state. Any state itching to create a police force should already have a prison. The burden of housing and feeding inmates should fall on the entity who prosecuted the offender.
The federal government will benefit by the long run reduction in prison population. The prisons are over crowded due to state law offenders. Most of these inmates are awaiting trial. It will provide and incentive for states to hire more judges, reform bail laws, or opt for lighter sentences for crimes such fines. States will be less likely to rush to form police forces if the full cost of policing is shifted to them immediately. This means more responsible and wealthier states begin first. Any state that can't will just proceed with the status quote. Brilliant assertion. |
