My good people , this is not the way to go oo.
It’s important for a man to stand by his principles .

Don’t be like those people from a certain region who will see white and call it black .
Example prof Wole Soyinka who has disappeared now after being settled by this govt

Stand by your beliefs and don’t sell it for a bowl of porridge like Esau in the Bible . Those people will still later trample on you
According to you, Wole Soyinka believe not aligning with yours means he was settled. Arguing with obidient has proven to be a waste of time

I am obviously not protesting. I am stating an opinion just as you are.

It is not the norm amongst we Yorubas for an 82 year old to call a 70 year old, son.

We Yorubas respect each other far more than for an 82 year old to insult a 70 year old that way.
Stop dragging Yoruba into your ignorance man.
Oyedepo was once a pastor in redeemed.
Once you were under a older pastor in redeemed and many churches that person will be seen as a father and you the son. You can have many father's in christiandom

Osun state is the home of Yoruba tradition, in Ile Ife everyday is the festival of one god or the other

Funnily, the same traditionalist also goes to church or mosque, there are many who don't and some are indifferent

Religious tolerance is very genuine among Yoruba people but some people may see it as hypocrisy

Some of my students when I was serving were the same masquerades you see on the street

They even invited me to one of of their shrines , yet they have Muslim or Christian names...

We should have had one in Portharcourt years ago. I remember when Amaechi started the construction but couldn't finish it before completing his tenure. Instead of continuity from the subsequent government, it was abandoned. That project is now lying in waste after gulping millions. I just tire jaree!!
Instead of the shalaye FC, fubura should complete it but no. He's also clueless. Rivers people are ok with cluelessness that is why they were praising woke for building bridges and abandoning the monorail for good 8 years

It's free for now since the launch till December this year.

I don't think people are really using it to commute like it's stated. From experience, people are only riding for fun.

The train station are stationed in locations that don't really favour the masses. Imagine spending money to take taxi to the train station, the train will take you to another station and you still pay for taxi to get to your actual destination. People choose to pay for taxi instead of wasting that much money and time. You might think that should reduce the tfare, but you end up paying more than is expected.

Sometimes I wonder so much that the solution the government of this country think they're providing is actually the problem we face.
Just like the Lagos Ibadan train. I'll rather trek to Ibadan instead of taking a train to an unknown village in Ibadan. Attimes you wonder how they come about this route.
Only Lagos State is doing things rightly when it come to routine metro

Wickedfact:
Did you see me mention monopoly in my post?
Or, do I need to translate it into your native language before you understand?

It is a lie to say the fuel being imported is substandard.
He said the same thing when he was marketing his inferior cement and we all found out it was a lie. Go and see the cement being used to construct roads. How many times do you see then using Dangote cement?
Dangote has never monopolized cement, and it's not new that Dangote cement is not the best and it's not also the most expensive
PoliticsRe: Dangote Officials, Refiners Tackle Marketers Over Imported PMS by bugu51: 8:46am On Sep 20, 2024
Wickedfact:
I guess you were a teenager when Dangote used this same ploy to launch his 3X cement. Go and ask your elders at home if I'm lying. They will educate you better.

First, he said they didn't sell him crude.
Then, he accused them of owning the refinery in Malta.
Now, he's saying the fuel they sell is bad.

He can cry himself to death but he won't be the sole supplier of Nigeria's petrol.

Petrol is a security product and we can't keep it in the hands of one man.
It's just a propaganda, there is no time in Nigeria that Dangote has been the only producer of cement. Please stop spreading this popular rumor
PoliticsRe: Dangote Officials, Refiners Tackle Marketers Over Imported PMS by bugu51: 8:44am On Sep 20, 2024
Wickedfact:
You are comparing Dangote Refinery to Dunlop and Michelin.

First of, there are substitutes to products of both companies. Dangote wants to be the only one. Now, if he's the only one, he can raise prices at his whim and caprice a and nothing anyone can do about it.

Petrol is a security product and Dangote can't be the sole provider.

If you give Dangote monopoly of oil production, he can change the government. All he needs to do is to raise fuel prices 2 weeks to the Presidential election, blame the increase on the increased cost of doing business and the government is in soup.

Thirdly, a single bomb thrown in that refinery can destroy Nigeria's petroleum supply for at least a month. That's the security angle you haven't considered.

Next time, you look at other factors instead of taking a narrow stance on the subject.
It seems you don't know the meaning of monopoly. You can get licence and build your own refinery.
Dangote did not stop port Harcourt refinery or Kaduna refinery so how is he a monopolist? By discouraging importation of substandard fuel product?
PoliticsRe: Dangote Officials, Refiners Tackle Marketers Over Imported PMS by bugu51: 8:41am On Sep 20, 2024
NinjaMetahuman:
you read wrong.

I mean we shouldn't ban importation of petrol.

Let dangote compete with international price.

If his price is cheaper, people will buy from him instead of imported petrol.
Bro this people import substandard product for maximum profit. Since Dangote challenged them no one came out to debunk with evidence.
Substandard product will actually be cheaper, and Dangote cannot set prices above international price, it's just business men selling low quality blended PMS at low cost.
PoliticsRe: Dangote Officials, Refiners Tackle Marketers Over Imported PMS by bugu51: 8:37am On Sep 20, 2024
Wickedfact:
Dangote was using imported fuel for his thousands of trucks, there was no problem then.

Now that he has a refinery, the fuel is now bad. It's his cement playbook again no one is falling for it.

Fuel will keep being imported and nothing he can do about it. If he can't sell at a competitive price, that's his headache.
Airborne dieses that is why we don't live long in major city. I use to shake my head whenever I go out in Lagos. Everywhere is filled with carbon.

Greedy people.

The choice belongs to the citizens on who to purchase from and that it what competition is all about. We have been using the so called dirty fuel for uncountable years with no stories. Even Dangote himself was using the same dirty petrol until he started his own refiniery.

It is our choice who and where to buy from. It is also the business of the marketers where they source their foreign currency from.

Monopoly is always the name of the game for Dangote. Up till now he has been having this back and forth with NNPCL, deceiving themselves. Their fear is that petrol price might be cheaper and therefore eliminate their greedy profit.

Yeye people.
All what you type doesn't add up or show logic. If marketers import dirty fuel and sell in naira to us where will they get their dollars?
Are they taking the naira we pay to USA to get newly refined PMS?

How is what they import cheaper? Who told you they'll sell cheaper? It's always maximum profit and NNPC controls the flow.
You just want to support continuous sabotaging of Nigerian economy by greedy few

Please show me what he has achieved in any of your points below...

try to reduce our debt to gdp ratio so that the naira can be strengthened.......focus on food security by making food more Available.

Invest in mass housing

Make power supply more efficient

Make social services like health care and education cheap and affordable so households can have more disposable income they hitherto would have spent on these.
Electricity, it depends on where you are. This band system has greatly improve electric supply. Where I am it's 18 to 20hours light daily.
Food security, can't you see how tomato and some other item price went down?
Are you not aware of the military operation in the north?
For some days now several bandits have been caught and killed. This will enable farmers go back to farm.

I have been looking for comment like this since I posted the news.

Only you understands the news. Simply put FG tax each liters of the petrol. Probably the reason why dangote was saying he paid 100 million dollars to lagos state government for the land is because Lagos state government two is involve. So both FG and Lagos state government imposed tax on each liters of the petrol. This underscores the reason why dangote insisted that NNPCL should be the sole distributor because he is afraid of telling Nigerians the Price so as not to cause violence.
Dangote is selling cheap to federal government. Tinubu just want to punish Nigerians.
There's no reason why we were suppose to pay this high for fuel
