The common reply you'll get from a Zikite if you ask the question 'wassup with Pre-Science? is "It's a waste of time, the program is partial, there'salways a specific number of students to be admitted and bla bla, These bad reports about unizik Pre-Science kept on ringing on my head like an ipod stuck on replay, as i registered for the program. My name is Ebuka Charles Nwankwo, friends prefer Charles. My nick/stage name is buka-C. I was born and brought up in U.N.N (University of nigeria nsukka) where i wrote my first JAMB exam. I passed both UTME and PUTME but wasn't admitted as a result of incorrect Subject combination. My Dad, a lecturer in the school was reluctant to amend the problem, so I vexed and decided to change my choice of university. Unlike everyone who had the motive of passing Unizik Pre-Science, I registered for the program only to avoid staying idle till the next JAMB exam. Well, I wouldn't say my aim/objective later changed. I would rather put it this way, "The equation got balanced". I think my road to success in unizik Pre- Science started with the type of house God put me in. The house is not a lodge but a family house. The landlord, a once business tycoon in Jos now based in his hometown due to crisis, decided to allow students occupy the house just because his son registered for the program. The house has got everything a student will need for comfortabilty and concentration. The security is so damn tight, because around there is where the Vigilante Council is located. The village is called Ojiagu. ***I am happy to announce that the landlord has indicated his willingness to accept tenants this session. ***I will tell you how to reach me if you're interested. I.e if you really want to read/concentrate and possibly pass unizik Psp*** God doubled my blessing by giving me focused and God fearing housemates. Reading/jacking was adequate and constant. We had fellowship every sunday night, which was conducted in turns. These good deeds and many more contributed to my success in unizik Psp. Let me share with you details/facts about unizik Psp in Mbaukwu. The program is a six months term which is concluded with an examination. The official minimum cut off mark for a pass in the program is 200.00. Admission through the program is dependent on JAMB. The official minimum JAMB cut off mark is 180.00. Let me give FOUR instances for clarification. 1. If John scores 179 or bellow in his JAMB exam and scores 200 or above in his Psp exam. (He will NOT be admitted) 2. If John scores 180 or above in his JAMB exam but scores 199 or bellow in his Psp exam. (He will NOT be admitted) 3. If John scores 180 in his JAMB exam and 200 in his Psp exam. (He will be admitted, but might not be given his choice of course. The higher your Psp score, the greater your chance of getting your preferred course) 4. If John applied for Medicine and surgery and scored 180 in JAMB but hits 300 or above in his Psp exam. (He will be admitted into Med.Sug dept. JAMB score is just a gateway). **Unizik Pre-Science does not require Post UTME** There are six available subjects: Maths, geography, english, physics, chemistry and biology to be taught by four lecturers each. i.e a total of 24 lecturers in all. You will choose five or four subject to sit for in the exam. Only four subjects will be calculated over 400. (i.e your best four) The program is more like a secondary school, students are grouped into classes according to reg. numbers. Eight classes, B1, B2, C1, C2, D1, D2, E1 & E2. **I was in E1 Lecturers always advice that the program is a survival of the fittest, but i must tell you, Unizik Psp is a battle even the fittest lose. I have a few advice for ya'll -Don't listen to what everybody says, only listen to 2 people, the lecture and you -Don't be intimidated by the size of books your classmates carry around or the way they answer questions in class. Let it be a stimulus on you to study hard -Too much of everything is bad. Many people miss lectures to attend fellowships and night vigils. My dear, serve your God adequately but don't steal from Ceaser. Don't forget that on the exam day, God will only help you remember what you know. -Don't miss lectures at all. The words coming out of the lecturers' mouth is what you will see on the exam day, not fake past questions or text books, but buy them o! -The guys, I know we've got a very high ego, we like to be seen, loved and respected and we hardly survive without a girlfriend. Well, i'm not totally condemning having a girlfriend, because i had one during my term in Psp, Mbaukwu. The question is: can you see her as just a friend and a study partener for at least six months?. Because my dear, immorality is a sin God highly detests. He said, He Turns His Face Away From It" My dear Mbaukwu is not a place you can survive on your own, you need all the help you can get from God. You need to be at peace with him if you want to pass. The swagg madness is always the other of the day, but I must tell you, over 60% of the guys in my set who couldn't stop showing off, were robbed and some injured. One fact you must have at the back of your mind is that Mbaukwu is a town and has got villages with youths who most times get jealous over what they see. Six months is not a long time. You can suffer your body and ego for just 6months, when you get to the main campus, you can now display all kinda fashion. The program is expensive, don't allow your parents' investments to be a waste. Well, If you're moved or inspired by my story and advice, i hope to see you in the main campus next academic year. ***Please share this with any of your friends who's about going in for the program*** THANKS Bukacee www.facebook.com/bukacee IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN LIVING IN THE HOUSE I MENTIONED, CONTACT ME FOR MORE DETAILS. ¤¤07064668966¤¤ (Merry Xmas) |
