Number #1
Google password:

@gmail.com's password is the most important key or tool to your safety online, guard it with all seriousness. Should you use easy password for everything else you register online, don't try it with your google password.

The reason why your google password is the most important is because, all other loggings are tied to it; access to your google account could mean access to all other accounts of yours.

When you create a gmail, you use it as your android ID. You can log into other accounts with it or use it as backup to other accounts like WhatsApp. All your activities online could be synchronized into your google account. See it as the main entrance to your house. Once access is gained, major parts of your house is open.

You can easily recover your other accounts using your gmail in the event that you forget their password or in a case of hack. But what happens when you loose your google account to hackers or you forget the password? That is where the second key/tool comes into play.

Number #2

Your phone number

Your phone number is as important as your google password. With your phone number, your google account can be accessed. This is done through recovery.

When you loose your google password, just go to recovery, then google will send you a reset code to the phone number attached to your google account through which you'll easily reset your password. A scammer with your phone number can easily do the same thing. So what would you do if you lost your phone number?

First, report to the nearest police station. Criminals might have actually collected the sim to use it for crime. Remember, security agencies can easily track a registered line to the owner; you would be held responsible for any crime committed with your line.

Secondly, contact your service provider ASAP. Retrieving the line (welcome back) as early as possible might prevent damages that could be done to your account. Remember too that your bank account might be linked/tied to your phone number, so act fast.

Activating SIM lock is a perfect way of securing your sim card in addition to using phone lock.

Do you have any difficulty with your google account? Tell us in the comment section, we'll help you.

CrimeBeware Of Facebook by Burstscam(op): 4:14pm On Jan 03, 2020
Facebook is one of the most popular and biggest social media in existence. Unfortunately, it is also one of the most unsafe places to be on the internet. What makes Facebook unsafe? How can you be safe from scam?

Case 1

PROBLEM:

You share too much unknowingly.

Facebook allows you to share information in piecemeal. Little by little, personal information you shared overtime might accumulate to significantly make you vulnerable to scam.

SOLUTION:

Before you click "post" make conscious appraisal of what you are about to share. Can you share such information with strangers in real life? Remember, Facebook is just another real life.

Case 2

PROBLEM:

You have little or no control of whatever you have shared.

Facebook allows third parties to use your data. Any individual, even non friends, can use information on your wall. Some ads might actually contain malware.

SOLUTION:

Carefully and consciously adjust your privacy settings to reveals less about you. Constantly revisit your privacy settings to suit your current understanding. Do not make posts just to impress people you hardly know, your safety is Paramount.

Case 3

PROBLEM:

Most profiles you see on Facebook are fake, scammers are behind them. Some beautiful female profile pictures you see belong to scammers. Their only objective is to psych you and scam you.

SOLUTION:

When you receive a friend request from a model-like person, check their profile, if you see only few pictures, or just few posts, or the account is newly registered, or almost all their friends are opposite sex, please decline. Note that some deliberately do not allow non friends to see their friends or their pictures in the privacy settings, so you must be discrete here and use sound judgment.

Case 4

PROBLEM:

Your real friends could be used to get you.

When your friend's account is hacked, the scammer might leverage on the relationship that you both share to scam you by making some financial demands or introducing fraudulent business to you.

SOLUTION:

Before you make any financial move, be sure to call your friend or relative involved or use any other medium aside Facebook to confirm from them.

Case 5

PROBLEM:

Your account can be hacked.

There are many ways of hacking your Facebook. We will discuss more about it in our subsequent posts, but be aware that when your account is hacked, the hacker takes control of your account and can use it for whatever purpose that suites him.

SOLUTION:

Choose your password wisely. Don't use easy to guess password. Change password from time to time. A strong password should contain alphabets, numerals and other characters. Avoid using your phone number, date of birth, generally significant dates like independent date etc.

Please feel free to share your thought on the comment section.
