ADC Factional Chairman Reportedly Suspends Atiku Abubakar & Babachir Lawal in Adamawa

A fresh political drama is unfolding in Adamawa State as reports claim that a factional chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Raji Sulaiman Zumo, has announced the suspension of two major political figures.

Those reportedly affected include:

Atiku Abubakar
Babachir Lawal

According to reports, the decision was made by a factional leadership group within the ADC in Adamawa State.

However, the use of “factional chairman” raises questions about the legitimacy and reach of the decision, as Nigerian political parties often have internal leadership disputes at state level.

At the moment, it is not yet confirmed whether the national leadership of the ADC has endorsed or rejected the suspension.

The situation remains developing.

CultureBefore Nigeria Was Nigeria: The Ancient Land, The Kingdoms, The Peoples by Busy5767(op): 9:23pm On Apr 02
Before the country called Nigeria existed, the land already had a long and rich history filled with ancient cultures, kingdoms, trade, religion, and power. The Nok civilization is one of the earliest known cultures in the region, and long before colonial rule, the land was already home to Hausa states, Kanem-Borno, Benin, Oyo, Igbo communities, and many other peoples.

Nigeria as a country is modern, but the land is ancient. The British did not create the people or the kingdoms. They only joined different regions together, gave the territory a name, and later ruled it as a colony. That is why the real history of Nigeria goes far deeper than the date of independence.

The full story includes the Nok, the old kingdoms, the arrival of the British, the 1914 amalgamation, independence, and the wars and struggles that shaped the country we know today.

Was it other countries that started a war...?

Was there a threat or a problem of protection in the strait before?

Dude creates a problem and tries to gaslight and drag other countries into his wars

It's your mess... fix it.

What an orange man!
I understand your frustration, but international conflicts are rarely that simple. Most situations like this build up over time with multiple actors involved, not just one person or country.

It’s easy to point fingers, but the reality is usually more complex involving security concerns, past tensions, and strategic interests. Rather than reducing it to one individual, it’s better to look at the bigger picture and all the factors involved.
Foreign AffairsTrump Signals U.S. Pullback From Hormuz, Says Other Countries Should Step Up by Busy5767(op): 7:16am On Apr 01
U.S. President Donald Trump has suggested that the United States may begin to reduce its involvement in tensions around the Strait of Hormuz, a major global oil route.

According to recent reports, Trump indicated that other countries who depend on oil shipments through the region may need to take more responsibility for protecting it.

The statement has sparked reactions online, especially as the Strait of Hormuz remains one of the most important routes for global oil supply. Any change in involvement could have an impact on fuel prices worldwide.

However, there is no confirmed report of an immediate U.S. withdrawal, as the remarks suggest a possible gradual shift rather than a sudden exit.

Foreign AffairsVideo El Salvador Prison Labor: Seen Working Inside Prison Under Bukele’s Policy by Busy5767(op): 12:45am On Mar 31
Videos and reports from El Salvador have shown inmates working inside prison facilities as part of the country’s ongoing prison reforms under President Nayib Bukele.

In the footage circulating online, prisoners are seen working in groups, sewing uniforms and carrying out organized tasks under supervision. The program is part of a broader security and prison management approach introduced in El Salvador.

According to government reports and media coverage, the prison labor initiative is designed to:

• Keep inmates engaged in structured activities
• Reduce idleness inside prisons
• Provide basic skills training
• Allow some inmates to earn benefits such as reduced sentences

The policy has gained attention globally, especially as El Salvador continues its crackdown on gang activity and implements strict measures within facilities like CECOT (Terrorism Confinement Center).

While supporters say the system promotes discipline and rehabilitation, critics have raised concerns about prison conditions and the scale of incarceration in the country.

The videos showing inmates working have continued to circulate widely on social media, sparking debates about crime control, justice, and prison reform.

PoliticsRe: BREAKING: Viral Video Claims Nigerian CDS Made Controversial Statement On Terror by Busy5767(op): 10:08am On Mar 27
magoo10:
so we should continue having episodes of repented terrorists who turn out to go back to their crimes over and over? No na.
Whether forced into or brainwashed the intelligence unit should take an appraisal of the damages which these brainwashed and deceived few population can cause on the overall interest of the country and decide whether to save the country or the brainwashed terrorist who are few in number.
You cannot go on leading with tribalism and putting your brother who is not capable of the position and expect things to go right.
This is a lame and lazy way to approach the damage that has already been done.
You’ve raised valid concerns, especially about cases where “repentant” fighters return to violence that’s something no country can afford to ignore. Security decisions should definitely be based on risk assessment and intelligence, not emotions, and protecting the wider population must always come first.

At the same time, it’s also important to separate different categories of people involved. Those who are hardened fighters or repeat offenders should face strict consequences, no doubt. But those who were genuinely forced into it, especially at a young age, may require a different approach otherwise, we risk pushing more people back into the cycle.

On leadership, accountability is key. Appointments and decisions should be based on competence and results, not connections. When that balance is missing, it affects trust and effectiveness.

In the end, the real solution is not choosing between “the country or a few individuals” it’s building a system that protects citizens first, punishes real threats, and prevents future recruitment at the same time.
PoliticsRe: Sowore Calls Governors ‘shameless’ After Viral Video Praising Tinubu by Busy5767(op): 10:01am On Mar 27
Gjrich:
The clip of governors heaping praise on Tinubu did look stage‑managed, so Sowore’s “Shameless” jab lands for Nigerians tired of pageantry while bandits run wild.
Those agreeing with him see it as calling out a loyalty‑for‑access dynamic that sidelines real governance.
Those pushing back say public commendations are routine politics and don’t automatically mean governors aren’t working on state issues.
Either way, the buzz shows how starved people are for leaders who prioritize security and services over choreographed endorsements.
You’ve actually captured both sides of the argument well. The frustration many Nigerians feel right now is real, especially when insecurity and economic issues are still affecting daily life. So when people see public praise, it can come across as disconnected, even if that wasn’t the intention.

At the same time, like you said, political endorsements and commendations are not new they’ve always been part of governance and alliances. The real issue is whether those same leaders are also delivering results behind the scenes.

In the end, beyond the optics and the politics, what people really want is simple: visible improvement in security, economy, and basic services. If that is happening, the noise reduces. If not, every public display will naturally be questioned.

The CDS is obviously exhausted mercy is not for deranged animals in human form ,the more you show mercy the more they hit at you.
Nepotism will continue to make the Nigeria army look subdued that is the effect of bad leadership at the top.
I understand the frustration, especially with how long insecurity has gone on and the pain people have experienced. But at the same time, reducing everything to anger alone may not solve the problem.

The military’s job is not just about force, but also strategy sometimes decisions are based on intelligence, long-term stability, and preventing more violence. Also, not everyone involved in these groups is the same; some are hardened fighters, while others were forced or misled into it.

As for leadership, accountability is important, and people have the right to question decisions. But solving insecurity will require more than just blame it needs better coordination, proper resources, and addressing the root causes as well.

You actually made a fair point Sowore has always positioned himself as anti-establishment. But at the same time, people are free to question his timing or motives too. In politics, both consistency and perception matter, so it’s normal for people to interpret things differently.

Since the igbos have been dragging him for insulting Alex Otti, he is now looking for a way to buy back there love by insulting governors loyal to Tinubu. The funny thing is that they will fall for it
I think it might be a bit of a stretch to reduce everything to ethnic or political “strategy.” From what we’ve seen over time, Sowore has consistently criticized different leaders across parties, not just one side. Sometimes it’s better to look at the message itself rather than assuming it’s about trying to win any group over.

You are right, the other day I saw Boko indoctrinating kids with Army uniform and training them. What they should do is to create an awareness about birth control, give the kids/almajiri education and take them off the streets. The Hydra which is their main bossess should be eliminated without mercy just as Israel dey do him own. Then if they are remorseful give them second chance but I doubt this will happen cos the North knows what they are doing.
You made a very important point about root causes. If the system doesn’t address issues like poverty, lack of education, and child vulnerability, the cycle will continue. Dealing with the top commanders is one part, but preventing recruitment is just as important for long-term peace.

While I don't agree to any second chance for a terrorist but do you know that some of those boko haram members are Young's boy that were kidnapped and forced into the group.

The enter a village to kidnap young boys just to force them to be members.
Exactly, and this is where the situation becomes complicated. Some of them are victims themselves before becoming perpetrators. That’s why many experts talk about separating hardened fighters from those who were forced or indoctrinated, especially young ones.

As much as I understand his point of approach, but terrorist can't be forgiven. It's between them and God, your duty is to arrange for the meeting.
That’s a strong position and many people feel the same way. But the challenge is that security decisions are not always just emotional sometimes they involve intelligence, negotiation, and preventing further attacks. It’s not always as simple as eliminating everyone involved.
PoliticsRe: BREAKING: Viral Video Claims Nigerian CDS Made Controversial Statement On Terror by Busy5767(op): 6:17am On Mar 27
FortCavazosKnox:
Forgiveness should be left for the Lord only, the military should be arranging the terrorists meeting our good Lord
I understand your point, and truly the pain caused by terrorism makes people feel justice should be immediate and strict. But at the same time, the role of the military is also to protect and manage situations carefully. Not every case is always black and white, especially when some individuals may have been forced into it.
