The department gets their yearly budget first week in July and makes assistantship decisions in the following week.
My professor of interest is the chair of graduate admissions and is interested in having me work with him. He gave me the assurance that I will secure it. Like I mentioned earlier, the decision would be made in the second week of July.
Are you advising that I wait till then, so I can order a fresh Form I20, before booking a visa interview?

remember u will receive the new i20 by the 3rd or 4th week in July and that might be late if anything goes wrong on ur interview as per reapplying for another interview. Am not being pessimistic sha, jst for u to see all possible scenarios

Pls I mailed my school dat I wud like to use courier services to receive my i20.. DE just replied me dat de don't have courier services dat de will send my i20 via DHL tomorrow.

My question is. Isn't DHL a courier nymore.. N how long wud it take to receive it..

you don't need to worry, u will get it very soon. Got mine in 4days thru fedex to abuja.

This is my first time of posting on the thread but ve been reading lot of post which has enrich me with advice from my broda Walspring, my issue now is that i applied for the fall semester at murray state university inwhich i gave my login details to a friend of mine when i couldn't get d statement of account of my sponsor on time due to some circumstances my friend uploaded d statement of account of his uncle as my sponsor without my consent, surprisenly i received a congratulatory email from murray dat my admission process is completed and my I-20 has been issued i was surprised that has d policy of statement of account for verification before granting admission status been cancealled to cut the story short my I-20 arrived today and on checking it i found out that d sponsor name was written boldly with his bank balance on d I-20
i felt so depressed cos i neva know d owner of d bank statement but my friend does.
And its my dad that want to sponsor me, pls which bank statement should i take to the interview and how should i defend it.
Ur advice is highly welcome, save a dyeing broda please

like slimmy05 said, there's something fishy about your complaint however if that's the case, I think u shud get another i20 from the school bearing your dad's name by sending his SOA to them. The other option could be detrimental which is to continue with the SOA u have and claim he's ur uncle too but make sure its not more than 2/3 months old. I stand to be corrected tho...

Hey guys... Someone is about paying for my SEVIS in the US and wants to know which address to fill in... Hers? Mine? Or the school's? Also, I started the ds-160 application yesterday however I cannot access the account today. Can I start afresh since I have not submitted yet and I had just completed only the first page. You can also with his company SOA to back it up with copies of his Cert of Incorporation as proof that its his company.

But the thing is that it might look suspicious to stuff his personal account in 3weeks cos I think his active account is the family business account so I was thinking a cover letter is my best option for now. I hope I hv other areas covered thanks to you guys. I pray my testimony is on its way...

hello guys. have followed this thread for about a week and all i can say is a big thank you to all you guys here, you ROCK!!! i just got my i20 from Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale FL and want to start my SEVIS, ds 160 and also schedule my interview for early july. However, on my i20, it is written "family funds" but the SOA is my Dads business account. My question is: do i get a cover letter from the bank stating that my Dad is the owner and the signatory to the business account? please i need your advice @slimmy05; @darklight; @stewee; @others, una too mursh! cudnt remember names again.... thanks FAM
