Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a smart man. He tactically removed Adebayo Adelabu out of office without even forcing him directly.

I know the President must have been fed up with his gross incompetence, especially with the way Nigerians kept dragging the government over the endless electricity promises that never saw the light of day. The power sector remained in chaos, and the Ministry of Power failed to deliver anything close to the expectations of Nigerians.

So, what did Tinubu do?

He gave Adelabu a political body language. A silent signal that suggested, “If you resign as Minister of Power, you could possibly get the endorsement of the President to clinch the APC Oyo Governorship ticket.”

Believing the coast was clear, Adelabu resigned, thinking the path had already been prepared for him.

Only for him to suddenly discover that APC had already settled for Sharafadeen Ali as their consensus candidate.

As it stands now, Adelabu is losing home and away. Out of the ministry, yet without the governorship ticket he sacrificed everything for.

That is the price you pay for incompetence, especially when your failure gives Nigerians every reason to drag the President daily over promises your ministry could not deliver.

I understand that people vote based on sentiments (tribe and religion) but you cannot deny the fact that the subsidy removal and floating of naira doesn't have any impact on people, I for one know many people that was behind PBAT in 2023 and are totally against him now due to economic issues obviously (not just a few people but many).

Yeah, the adminstration has control over INEC, security and others (which I accounted for) but it's not an absolute control, because if that was the case, then power won't ever change from any ruling party ever.
