The consular accent cost me the interview today, I couldn't understand what she was saying and when i asked her to come again, she just said I didn't qualify for media visa instead of her to speak with more clarity

If you can pass a job interview as a qualified journalist, then a visa interview shouldn't be your problem. All you have to do is convince the VO, in fact I like to throw them off balance. Your purpose of travel and where you will stay must be valid. Your job responsibilities is also important and must be well defined, It can determine the outcome of your visa and most applicants get it wrong from here.

Lots of qualified applicants get intimidated sighting the VO hence the rejection in many cases. You'll even see applicants twisting tongue (phonetic) just to sound like a white man. It's very wrong in my own opinion. Be natural and truthful because a VO can smell some lies from 500m.

Comport yourself to the interview and explain concisely to the visa officer your intended date of arrival in the US which is different from what you have in your application. This is considered an honest mistake and not fraud or wilful misrepresentation. They have a way of correcting it in their system.

Clearly the date was an error so be proactive and volunteer the info the moment u are asked purpose of trip.
As for likely questions, you yourself will have to take the transcripts u have seen and think outside the box. U know your job and duties so think of likely questions. Whether you are a doctor or mason, whatever ur job the transcripts are usually related if not same for conferences

Good day to everyone in the house , please kindly help me with this , i am a journalist, Senior health reporter precisely , with a reputable magazine in Nigeria, I have an interview tomorow , my visa class is journalist / media I class visa , I'm attending a conference on the 22nd February as a media delegate , i mistakenly filled January 21st , instead of february 21st ,as my intended date of arrival to the state , please how can I correct this on my ds160? ,
More so, I've not seen anybody's transcript or experience in this visa category , please what are the likely questions I should be prepared for?
