Although MPPT is written boldly on it, this is a glorified PWM charge controller so what you're experiencing is normal. A quick fix is to get a genuine MPPT charge controller and watch as it tracks sunlight and charges your batteries even under less than ideal weather condition

As said earlier, I disconnected the charge controller earlier this morning around 7am and I'm still blazing my solar with all household equipments on as I type. Before now, when the charge controller was still connected ,

1. The inverter starts beeping and goes off if cloud manages to cover sunlight for as little as 3 minutes. I have to start reducing load instantly so it won't go off. I.e I instantly swith off my TV , fan, PlayStation etc.

2. I no fit even use am for night. Under 2 minutes it has gone off without load even on it. The charge controller will be indicating that the battery is low..


All these while I always thought it was my battery that was bad but seems its not. There is simply something wrong somewhere.

You are at risk of fire outbreak from ur batteries by bypassing the charge controller.
You didnt mention the wattage and nos of panels plus how they are arranged either in series or parallel?

Omo I don't really have a hands on answer to the questions as I'm a big novice. I just told the installer what I needed. He gave me the estimate but I can't remember the indept details.

But the panels are 4 in number. They are arranged vertically side by side.

Yes, it is not the best decision to connect solar panels directly to a battery. A solar charge controller regulates the voltage and current from the solar panels to prevent overcharging, thereby extending the battery life.

It seems like the charge settings on the charge controller are incorrect or it is a defective unit.

Please share your charge controller model and your battery type.

Good afternoon sir. The charge controller is as seen in the first pics.i have disconnected the solar and battery wires that's why it is not displaying.

The second pics is the kind of battery I have (2 units. )

I noticed my inverter starts beeping and eventually turns off when there is little sunlight for as low as just 10 minutes (when gate and compound lights are on). When tv and fan is also on, it starts beeping in as low as just 2 minutes and then goes off. In a nut shell, e wan be like na when sun dey blaze e dey function well.

Then after careful thought, I decided to disconnect the MPPT charge controller and connect the batteries and solar wires directly by bypassing the charge controller. Omo rain fell for 2 hours and I still had light with TV , fan and every every on. If it was before, the inverter for don off coz there is little sunlight. What could be the issue and what could be wrong? I'm a novice on solar energy but it seems like the charge controller is not allowing the batteries to charge properly. That's what I'm thinking.


Is this also a good or bad decision?

This one nor get strong leg. Na why dem catch and embarass am like this.
