We immediately contacted the eBay seller to confirm whether the item had truly been shipped and delivered. The seller cooperated fully and provided proof of delivery, including the name of the representative who received the item.
With this information, we returned to our U.S. shipping partner, only to discover the real issue: the item carried a UN3091 label, and the shipper had deliberately refused to ship it due to the restrictions associated with that label.
Now, consider this situation carefully—this was a $3,000 item paid for by a customer who had never physically met any member of our team. The level of trust placed in Cargome Xpress Services speaks volumes about our integrity, competence, and proven track record.
To resolve the issue, we went back to the seller and explained that the item could not be shipped with the UN3091 label. We requested that a return label be created so the item could be picked up and sent to a new address where the label could be properly handled and removed, after which it would be forwarded to a compliant shipping partner. This process was successfully completed.
Throughout this entire journey—the delays, investigations, back-and-forth communications, and final resolution—we kept the customer fully informed. As agreed, the item is now on its way to Nigeria.

Alas, all our attempts to contact our partner failed, and time slipped away. Despair overwhelmed us! Furthermore, when we requested a quote from our client, the item's price was $41.12. Unfortunately, our client had already fulfilled their credit, and we couldn't ask for additional funds to cover this significant difference.
With no time to lose, we tried our luck with the Geepay virtual card, only to be struck down with a suspension. As a last lifeline, we turned to Eversend, but alas, they charged us a one-time $3 card fee, along with a 3.5% processing fee and a dreaded $0.5 maintenance and transaction fee. Their conversion rate of N1830/$ was a necessary evil we had to accept for the sake of expediency. We poured our available funds into the account, only to have it unexpectedly reversed, leaving us in suspense about the entire affair.
By the grace of fate, we found solace in Chipper, a loyal ally in times of need. Unfortunately, our virtual card had expired due to the passage of time. Although skepticism threatened to taint our alliance, we were pressed for time to make the payment for the esteemed artifact before nightfall. And so, once again, we sought support from Chipper, and paid an additional $6 to ensure success, at a cost of N1,831 per dollar. The die was cast, and the esteemed payment was confirmed.
After providing our customer with a screenshot of the purchase and order confirmation, we were happily surprised when they agreed to pay the extra amount. Amidst the prevailing hunger and finances being tight, many would not consider this act of kindness. We gladly took the loss and deemed it a victory to have helped them purchase the item.

This has led to the emergence of virtual dollar cards, which also come with their own set of challenges.
Today, we helped a client with their ebay shopping and shipping to our USA and UK addresses. However, we encountered several obstacles along the way. After charging the client at the black market rate of N1750/$, they made a payment to us, including a $20 token as our checkout fee. The client had already credited us, so it wouldn't have been right to ask for additional money to cover the difference.
In a last-ditch effort, we tried using Geepay virtual card, but our account was suspended. We also attempted Eversend; however, we found out they charge a $3 one-off card fee, a 3.5% fee, and a $0.5 maintenance and transaction fee, with a conversion rate of N1830/$. With limited options, we had no choice but to utilize their service for the payment. We funded the account; however, the money was unexpectedly reverted, making us feel uneasy about the whole situation.
Finally, we decided to turn to Chipper, which we had used in the past years, only to discover that our virtual card had expired. Despite our reservations about Chipper's high exchange rate, it was imperative for us to pay for the custom item before the close of business today. Consequently, we reactivated our Chipper account and were charged an extra $6, with an exchange rate of N1,831. Without any alternative, we made our payment, which was promptly confirmed.
