Community support service is a non profit organisation dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults with intellectual developmental disabilities. Social Studies has been conceptualized as a discipline which focuses on the study of man’s problem in society and how the problems are solved by utilizing critical and reflective thinking. Arising from this concept, the challenges posed include the need for adequate teacher preparation and community support among others to correct the abnormality in the teaching and learning of social studies. Social studies especially at the primary level is about the immediate environment and everyday life. It is about home/school and the community functioning together at a local level and about the extension of these things unto the National level. Social studies has its particular mission, the task of helping young people develop confidence that enables them to deal with and to some extent manage the physical and social forces of the world in which they live. On the other hand, the whole community is the school from which the child is expected to learn, therefore, the teacher who is a central figure in the system should know a lot about the community by working with the community agencies other than the school. Oladele Taiwo (1996) states that in all Community big or small, the teacher finds himself engaged in one community project or another. By virtue of this profession, he deals with the Community’s most precious possession, their children. http://www.bravoprojecthelp.com/education/community-support-in-the-teaching-and-learning-of-social-studies-in-primary-schools-in-kwali-area-council-of-fct/ |

Generally, it has been agreed legally that in any allegation of rape, the absence of ‘consent’ to sexual intercourse on the part of the victim is critical.[1] However, lack of consent may result from either forcibly compulsion by the perpetrator or an incapacity to consent on the part of the victim. Thus, a thorough perusal of the available statutory provision of rape displayed the word ‘consent’ rigorously, which signifies the importance of the word consent in order to adjudicate on rape cases in court. As such, the privacy of consent in rape is justifiable or else innocent accuse will be punished, while the main guilty accuse might be acquitted in court. However, consent shall be defined on the basis of ‘free agreement’ involving a ‘voluntary’ agreement between two parties to engage in sexual intercourse. The essence of ‘free agreement’ is that sexual encounters should involve communication of desires, likes and dislikes in the absence of force, coercion or fraud. Motor vehicle crashes remain the leading killer of human lives. They have resulted in more waste of lives and property than major communicable diseases and sundry ailments put together. Inexperience, immaturity and elevated tendency for risk taking are often cited as the major reasons for the elevated crash rates of young drivers. In an effort to address this, basic drivers’ education programs, those intended to prepare new drivers to pass their state’s licensure exams, were developed to teach the skills and habits necessary for safe vehicle operation. Such courses have been prominent in the United States since the 1950s. Today, about half of the states continue to require that teens take some form of drivers’ education prior to licensure, and several others offer benefits and incentives for doing so, such as early eligibility for obtaining a license or learner’s permit. Demand for such programs has thus remained strong, with the 30/6 (thirty days in six months) model remaining a high school fixture for many teens across the country. Despite their popularity, basic driver education programs continue to be the subject of scrutiny and debate. Several high‐profile evaluations have produced no evidence that basic driver education programs reduced crash rates; some have even suggested that such programs have had adverse safety impacts due to incentive structures in numerous states that allow teens who complete driver’s education to begin driving at a younger age or to hold their learner’s permits or intermediate licenses for a shorter period of time. Some researchers also note that in general, the results of evaluations of driver education programs have not been used in any systematic way to conduct follow‐up studies of the reasons for programs’ successes or failures, or to build upon them in an attempt to improve programs. The lack of firm evidence that basic driver education reduces the crash rates of young drivers, in conjunction with the general popularity of driver education and the need for some type of mechanism to teach new drivers how to drive, has led to increased interest in improving the quality of driver education and license programs. http://www.bravoprojecthelp.com/education/implementation-of-drivers-education-testing-and-motor-vehicle-licensing-system-in-frsc/ |
