It's been working for them fine. Just one goal in the tournament so far.
France has never even trouble any team to win a pk in this competition rather they have given out three cheap PK showing their weakness in defense.

While Le Bleu may not have shown perfection defensively, they have by far demonstrated a decent quality in that department.
On the other hand, they need not force PKs because they score at will irrespective of how impermeable a defensive line up might seem.
Four year ago, Croatia conceeded only 3 goals before the finals but let it a whole 4 goals against Le Bleu; that speaks volume bro.

Yes France got powerful forward but you see their defense line, it easier succumb to pressure if pushed.
So that will be an edge for Morocco.

France has been so far decent defensively having conceded just 5 goals in as many matches-penalties accounting for two of them. Their prolific forward by far balances any defensive lapses that might be.
If Morocco banks their hope on the team's defensive capabilities, it may backfire even as the likes of Mbappe and Dembelle or Griezman may force their defence into making penalty-prone errors.

It was all a game plan masterminded by the coach to have Mbappe drop deeper in midfield in order to give room for unlikely goal scorers. I, for one, knew before this game that Mbappe wouldn't make his usual impact.
