Hi everyone, please you are being misinformed by the media. This project is still under implementation, So, it's too early to tagged it a failed project. The pilot phase started in 2014 at Illela in Sokoto state, and the main phase did not commence till 2022 due to some constraint with the financing. Delivery is on track presently with just a few locations completed so far. Although, even after the completion, it might not be possible to cover the whole thousands of Kilometers but be sure it would reduce the menace of insecurity and infiltration of illegal migrants. The aim is to extend the surveillance systems along the border Hotspots and other unmanned boarder locations. 5,000+Km Borderline is no joke and obviously the surveillance cameras would not be able to go round practically but sure it would help the NIS in border security management efficiency.
