4-3-3 formation without two wingers is useless in the premier league. Premier league sides do not have a fantatista or trequartista. Even if they had, they don't know how to use them. Midfielders look more like henchmen than footballers.

Krayola2:
I kinda think that is more urban legend than anything to be honest. I know the AC Milan team of the 90s had a really solid, legendary defense, and that was pretty much the defense of the Italian national team. Tassotti, Baresi, Costacurta, Maldini. That reputation has stuck with Italy, but I don't know if they can really claim that. Right off the top of my head I cant think of any Italian defenders that play outside Italy, at least not for any of the big teams. I cant even think of one. I think one plays at Liverpool but I'm not sure. Zambrotta and Cannavaro came to Spain for a minute but didn't fare so well. And the Italian national team doesn't mind parking the bus so their defense by itself might not be so great . . .  it might just be another case of the giant bus.

That seems like just the serie a enthusiast's excuse for the lack of high scoring strikers in the league. . .they might just not want to admit that their league is dry grin grin tongue
urban legend ke. Serie a having the best defenders is no urban myth and It did not start in the late 1980's. May be now the premier league has caught up but la liga is still third in that department. Even when serie a and la liga were the two best leagues whot separated them was the defensive players serie a had. We can do a compilation of the best defenders to have played in the three leagues and I bet serie a whoops any other league's arse. Serie a actually has been a high scoring league the past two seasons however this becomes with the decline of great defenders. Serie a not only had great italian defenders they also had great defenders from other countries

The best defenders are in England. . . .
Rio, Vidic, Terry, Carvalho, Skrtel, Agger, etc.
the best and most cultured defenders were historically in serie a and still are. Apart from ferdinand and carvalho premier league defenders are less subtle. Too much gra gra and less skill. Defending is a form of art(reading of the game and timing tackles to perfection).

Serie A players lack stamina. . . . .
serie a might lack stamina but they have both the tactical know how(superb organisation and defensive abilities) plus technical skills. U might be in for a shock dis season.
dayokanu:
Yes

Bremen Beat Inter 3-2 on aggregate

Bremen eliminated Milan on aggregates

bremen beat Udinese on agregate

Bayern beat fiorentina 4-1 aggregate.

Wolfsburg drew Milan at San Siro

Inter barely managed to qualify with 8 points the lowest of all quarter finalists. ( Thanks to Zlatan)
as I told sauron that was last season. I believe dis season would be different. Remember chelsea knocked out juve courtesy of a dubious decision. Remember serie a still has the best defenders with the premiership catching up.

Their belief was that he terrorised both vidic and ferdinand and also hit the post. They say with a better team inter would have actually knocked out man united.

Chic2pimp.

Last season was the worst for serie A teams in Europe.

based on last seasons performance Serie A might rank equal with Cypriot league.

Inter serie A champs came second in a group of Olympiakos, Bremen and Anathorsis Famagusta!!!!

the farthest thet got in Europe was Udinese playing UEFA cup quarter finals
for the first part I say gerraway jare cypriot league ke eko league ni grin grin grin.  For the second part I must say I actually forgot inter struggled to qualify from their group. Serie a has been on  a downward spiral for 2 years now but this season might just change everything.

I absolutely don't know why he flops on the big european stage but u never know he might change for the better this season. For the second part pele ooo next i'll do it softly softly grin grin grin. Lucio was sold for 9million despite the fact that he has a year left and he is a defender. yet Etoo is 4milla.

using the ibra arguement u might have a point. But u must also consider ibra was coming from a better rated league when compared to the bundesliga. Secondly KRAYOLA  c'mon no one apart from the barca board rates eto'o as £4m and we all know it was a con to justify their reason offloading sammy boy
