Mr italo, I fear for you. The sooner u dispel the notion of Mary and other saints mediating on yr behalf, the better for you. All scripture points towards Jesus as the only way to God. Sincerely speaking, even the bible u catholics carry does not reference Mary or any of the saints as intercessors. |
Talking about a temporary place of torment applies to does who died before the fulfilment of Christ on earth, and not dose who died after him. They only are in a state of nothingness and await the white throne judgement. |
They go nowhere bro..in fact in Jesus words, "they are asleep"...except u disagree with 1 thess 4 vs 10 - 17 were the bible urges us not to cry for dose who died in christ as they are just asleep, it also tells us in vs 16 dat the "dead in Christ shall rise first" den dose still alive will follow to reign with the Lord forever. Thanks @Mizzzbeee. However, I wouldn't expect they'll give dis short notice and expect evry1 involved to comply..smh! |
Seconded!..guys please, I dunno wia some of us get the revelation that after one dies, he/she automatically finds oneself in Heaven or Hell...this understanding is just a far cry from wat d Bible actually implies in Heb 9:27. I think its important we really as God for insight into His word so that we dont get trapped in our own understanding. A MAN or WOMAN dies once and will not wake again till the last day when the resurrection takes place. |

Hello, afamee. Guess we could be of help to each other... |
@op,I believe dat 'deliberate sinner' has to be put in proper perspective. For instance, saul later paul the apostle was actually a deliberate sinner as he consistently persecuted the christians but God still found him worthy for his(God's) service, why? Because he hadn't accepted/believed in Jesus and so we can say, doesn't have the Spirit of God in him. Now,this is rather different from a person who accepted christ,is 'supposedly' led by the Spirit of God,but then continues to sin consciously. Hebrew 6:5-6 put this issue in perspective. A portion of this passage even says dias no longer atonment for sin for such a person, which was likened to crucifying christ a second time. Anyway, this is subject to various interpretation. Also, this link should throw more light on the issue www.comereason.org/hebrews-6.asp |
Hw can u fear wat is nt real...like a pastor said,hw can u b scared of an elephant pursuing u in d dream wen u hv no idea wat an elephant is or looks like in real life....just a projection of d evil one 2 cos fear, and grow weary...think of it |
musKeeto: I completely agree.I tell u...it was dat fact dat made me realise y d Bible always classified Jesus as 'the lamb' |
Like Seriously!!..ow can u say u sinned in d dream..lol. U hv 2 realize u nt in control of ur dreams,SO,discard dat notion of committing sin in ur dream. Afterall, most dreams are only a reflection of our experiences. |
FOLLOWING GOD SHEEPISHLY(Part1) “Jesus, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy……, I grew up reciting this prayer regularly during the sunday service intercessory session. It got to a point that I didn’t even need to recite this prayer from the prayer book, I began to recite it by heart. It never even occurred to me to meditate on the prayer, after all, all that was required of me was to recite the prayer whenever it was time. Then, on one faithful day, this phrase struck me – “the Lamb of God”. I began to ponder on a particular word in that phrase “Lamb”. Numerous questions began to surface, yet I couldn’t find answers to any. I asked, “why Lamb”, “why refer to Jesus as the Lamb of God”, “why not lion, or even elephant”. As time passed, I began to figure it out. As I reflected on the passage of the bible that described the fruits of the spirit, it then occurred to me that a Lamb exhibits some of these qualities – meekness, temperance, e.t.c. With this insight, I began to fully comprehend why Jesus was referred to as the Lamb of God. A Lamb, being a Sheep, is one of the most docile animals of all. That is, it possesses qualities that make it easy to control. Little wonder why a shepherd is able to control a very large flock of Sheep without losing any. They are very submissive even to the point of slaughter. Jesus ‘Followed God Sheepishly’; he obeyed God to the later, he laid down his life to be sacrificed so that the destiny of mankind can be restored, even to be crucified on the cross of Calvary. This is exactly how God expects us to submit to his absolute will. Jeremiah 29 verses 11 lets us understand that God’s thoughts for us are of peace and never of evil, to bring us to an expected end; expected end of hope, expected end of unquantifiable blessings. So, he expects us to place our full trust in him because he will never fail us. Proverbs 3 verses 5 and 6 commands us to trust in the LORD with all our hearts…….and he will direct our paths. Therefore, I implore every one of us reading this to look upon Jesus – the perfect example of one who followed God sheepishly – and learn from his life. Following the fulfilment of his purpose on earth, Jesus was rewarded with an exalted position in the heavenlies: he sits on the right hand of God the father, and also, he has been given a name above any other name be it in the heavens, on the earth, or under the earth – Hallelujah!!!. So, it will be fitting to say that only when we are ‘following God sheepishly’ can we expect to partake fully in the innumerable blessings he has laid in stock for us. |
