President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration appears to be characterized by endless political battles, crises, and instability across the country. From the royal throne of Kano to the House of Representatives in Lagos, from the power struggle in Rivers State to the rift with former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, his leadership seems to be defined by conflict. One cannot ignore the escalating political chaos under Tinubu’s watch. In Kano, the Emirship tussle has created tension, exposing how political interests overshadow traditional institutions. In Lagos, the leadership crisis in the House of Representatives raises concerns about governance in his stronghold. Rivers State is another battleground where Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor Nyesom Wike continue their power struggle, an issue that Tinubu himself has failed to resolve despite his intervention. Then there’s the looming political war with the North. The moment Tinubu signs the controversial Tax Reform Bill, a fresh round of hostility is expected. Many northern leaders already view his policies as unfavorable to their region, and this bill could worsen the divide. Nigeria is witnessing a high-stakes legal and economic battle between Dangote Oil Refinery and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd, a conflict that could shape the country’s energy future. The dispute centers around fuel imports...... Meanwhile, the Senate has been rocked by the Natasha Akpoti vs. Akpabio scandal, further showing the internal cracks in Tinubu’s party and the National Assembly. And just when Nigerians thought things couldn’t get worse, the recent oil pipeline bombings have forced the president to address the nation. But why now? Why does it take an attack on the country’s most vital resource for Tinubu to speak up? A government that thrives on endless power struggles and divisions cannot be said to be fostering stability. Is this a deliberate political strategy to keep opposition weak, or is it simply a failure of leadership? Either way, the Tinubu administration seems to be doing little to prevent the anarchy brewing across Nigeria. OC Martin
