The 36 states were created by military fiat, that is why there was this type of apparent lobby over where a 6th state for the SE can be located.

Anyway, it's only Nsukka people with their mentality who want dividion of old Enugu State for the 3rd time to get Adada while old Imo state and Anambra State remain the same. I don't know what makes Nsukka people think that way.
But Nigerians in the Parliament know that a 6th state for SE must come from Imo and Anambra States, or from any of the two states.

There have always been local government areas in Anambra South senatorial district who have sought to belong to this proposed state; they share common ancestry and culture with Orsu in Orlu senatorial district, much more than Owerri zone. Mind you, because Owerri zone does not share common ancestry and culture with Orlu is reason why Owerri cornered almost every government institution and establishment in Imo state and got them located all in Owerri zone.

Igbos don't need any territorial enlargement. What we need is political numbers to be fully aligned with the rest of the regions in National politics, and size doesn't count here...


How big is Israel as a nation, or even talk about the Principality of Monaco, Luxembourg, Lesotho, Seychelles, Cabo Verde, Austria and lots of other tiny nations that even in those nations have regions or states that are less than Main market area in Onitsha but they have representives which gives them voice, even those nations have representives in the UN and other international organizations.



We just need representatives to lend us more voice in national polity and not about size, the Igbo territories outside the South East will forever remain Igbo territory, so no fuse here whether they are merged with us or remaining in where they are, the only thing here is that they should never be forgotten.
