thanks for the previous post, i did exactly what You said but i'm still having the same problem, if i put the charger in, the indicator will blink 3 times and thats all, when i put on the laptop with the charger in it comes on but if i remove the charger it goes off immediately like a desktop
when i put it on i ran a battery diagnostic and it showed red, plugged in not charging 0%, and replace, could it be that the battery is bad?

@skydancer, i've tried ur option but i'm still having the same please is there another option or should i just take it to hp office cos its got a warranty?

I left my compaq cq61 laptop on all night and d battery drained now i've plugged it but it refuses to charge d indicator just blinks 3 times and goes off, if i put the pc on and remove the charger it goes off immediately
