Wow u must really have the brain of a peacock !!! ...... Dont ever on your pea life compare Europe and Nigeria.

European countries gave their citizens palliative.... what was the reason behind it?? .... I guess u dont know.

An insensitive government made the cost of living very hard for u and turn around only to share meager palliatives for the citizen and u want the populace to praise him?

Nigerians domt want the palliatives .... Just make the cost of living fair to Nigerians that is all we ask. Give us good governance, good roads, Adequate security and watch how the prices of food will fall.

slowpoke speak for yourself not for Nigerians.Europeans donot have two heads and are not super humans.I lived and dined with them before returning to Nigeria to do commercial farming.Soup kitchens and food banks is a must to have in Nigeria .It is a shame that Nigerians are crying about hunger with the large arable farmland spread all over the country, this is what Arabs and Europeans envy us for.

Palliative!!!

How long will they keep sharing this?? .... can they share palliatives for 8 years?? .... All this fire brigade approach wont solve Nada.

The country is fast sinking... We are losing our worth in Africa,Ecowas and the world at large!!!

Go back to farm there is nothing wrong with the Palliative even if it is forever. It is not a must you collect
Europe give its people all year round in form of food banks and soup kitchen so no one goes hungry in the country
We should appreciate the Govt when they do good and rebuke them when they do wrong.

Which one is work visa? Or you mean Job seeker visa?

For work visa, you need to get a work in portugal first before you can apply for work visa.

Job seeker visa is not cheap also. You need a health insurance that is worth 30,000 euros for you to apply.

I wonder how they think a job seeker will raise 30k euros. If I have that amount, wetin I dey find go Portugal.
Nobody pays 30k euros haba.Insurance in Nigeria some years ago was around 5k-10k.

Goldesia should have been better...maybe our currency would have been Gold which has more value than Naira.

Besides the main problem was the amalgamation of Nigeria and tribalism.

Na him we dy suffer now.

That probably explains why they'll leave that as one of the last options.

But, make no mistake, it can happen.

There aren't many countries in the world that allow its citizens to open a foreign currency accounts in their country.

A UK citizen cannot open a dollar account at Natwest, Barclays or any other bank in the UK. Only foreign nationals with particular investment or employment status can do so. Can an American citizen open a Euro, Pounds or Mexican peso account on US soil. I doubt it, though I stand to he corrected.

Think about it. Domiciliary account for all and sundry makes no economic sense for a country.

In Sweden, they convert all your dollars into SEK nothing like domicilliary account.

Dear Igbo brothers,

With the harsh reality of hardship on ground coupled with fraudulent protests here and there, kindly have plan B on your mind. If the protest increases, they will come for your shops, they will come for your goods. They will loot your products on its way. They will most likely loot and rob you off your hard earned investment.

Please have a plan B. Save most your products at home and leave your shops lean. Just display few items. Again do not open shops on a day of protest. Most importantly send down some of your investments down east. Buy land in the east and build some back up property down there.

You can also buy insurance if you have the capacity.

A WORD SHOULD BE ENOUGH FOR THE WISE.

Gurus in the house, please help me out here. See my mother’s rejection letter below. The two reasons they gave are addressable issues. I offered to fully sponsor her with 2200 GBP and even attached my 6-month bank statement showing over 30000 GBP with invitation and sponsorship letter, and all the sponsorship docs needed. Only to be rejected (5 days after biometrics) on the grounds of unclear funds in her bank statements, which we explained as transfers from her children, other cash gifts and repaid loans in a cover letter and in the extra information box (a series of payments not exceeding 150000 NGN, some even as low as 3000 NGN, and no lump sums apart from transfers from me and my siblings usually around 125000 NGN). Also, as a government worker, there are little payments here and there from the FGN. Payslips were even added! We submitted her bank statements just to fulfil all righteousness to show that she’s able to take care of herself back home - and that has spelled doom! I equally noticed that the second paragraph/reason was about how much her expenses are (and they quoted figures in Ghanaian Cedis, which shows me that they’re just writing anything as reasons for refusal these days). I indicated that her monthly costs amount to 70000 NGN, bearing in mind things like gas, food, fuel, DSTV and even the fact that she takes care of her late sister’s daughter. Maybe this was an understatement on my part. Fine, she renewed her professional license a month or so ago, maybe the huge amount threw the ECO off guard - but still! How is one supposed to have a fixed expenditure every month? Not even the ECOs have that. Also, for someone who has a sponsor and has submitted sponsor’s financial and tenancy documents, and self-introduction letter from sponsor, why are they talking about if her funds will be “genuinely available to [her] in the UK”. In the application form, I indicated that she’ll only spend 10 GBP of her money, whilst 2200 GBP has been earmarked for her 10-day trip this Easter (with a budget submitted even). This is ridiculous! The reasons for rejection are starting to seem mundane and rehashed - it all appears to be basically rushed. We submitted a comprehensive application with at least 17 documents (including employment reference and property ownership documents). What do you advise I do? I am so pissed at the fact that these are infinitesimal issues. Imagine being on vacation and this is the bomb dropped on the very first day you arrive at an exotic destination - that’s my situation right now. It means no rest smh. I want to reapply immediately, if possible, because Easter is only some weeks away. In essence, should we have left the bank statement out in the first application (cos mine was enough since I’ll be fully sponsoring)? And, should I leave it out in the next application (just submit payslips)? I’m just confused even.

Finally, please how do you go about it when monthly expenditure is higher than your monthly income?

Kindly provide your wise counsel. @cashmadam @AmeliaT @others
