Become a Full-stack Developer in 3 Months Free of Charge With Codebits Accelerator Hands-on Immersive Training!

Year 2018 was a monumental year for African Tech Start-ups with over $1.163 Billion in equity funding, a 108% Year-over-Year (YoY) growth. It is noteworthy that the figure is exclusive of grants, awards, loans etc. Recent reports coming in for 2019 are equally quite astonishing.

For example just about 4 months ago a Nigerian logistics startup Kobo360 raises $30M in funding. (https://techcrunch.com/2019/08/14/nigerian-logistics-startup-kobo360-raises-30m-backed-by-goldman-sachs/?guccounter=1&guce_referrer_us=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_cs=-58OB7uI_HCx-89-8yOTxQ). Also,in the same vein, just last month a Nigerian fintech gets $360M, mints unicorn, draws Chinese VC. In the light of these huge investments, we can now identify a number of opportunities, as these investments are driving the demand for resources locally, coupled with the expansion of software space in Nigeria and Africa at large. Therefore, Codebits Academy, a software training centre, is proactively preparing the ground to supply resources to all these new investments in Nigeria and the region through free quality software development training for graduates.

The training center provides tailored software training for candidates in both basic and advanced software development principles and techniques. In the short run, this will make existing IT jobs more secure and mitigate the challenges associated with the need for new employees. In the long run, it will minimize the risks of project failure, due to lack of skilled I.T professionals.

The aim of this initiative is to address the shortage of skilled software developers in the IT industry in Nigeria, thus addressing one of the main reasons for high unemployment and low productivity. By establishing a software training centre, the supply of adequate labour force in this rapidly expanding sector of the economy will be addressed.

Those who will benefit greatly from this training are fresh graduates (Post NYSC) and NYSC Corps Members.

The Codebits Career Accelerator Program is free. We source for talented candidates with previous programming skills, then are made to undergo an immersive 12 weeks training in full-stack software technologies (Adv Javascript, jQuery, C#, ASP.NET Core ). After the training the candidate is given an exclusive internship with a true global maritime software company for a year. This offer comes with a monthly stipend as the candidate further perfects his/her skills working on real-life projects with experienced software engineers, after which a more tailored remuneration can be worked out.

Application is ongoing and closes January 12, 2020
