NIGERIA WHERE IS HOPE?
What is hope?.......... Where is hope?........ what are we doing to foster hope?

Anyone can say "Don't worry, one day things will change" but how true is that statement. We wake up daily in Nigeria to see the decay grow worse, we are now plagued daily with bombs, assassinations, ritual killings, kidnapping, wickedness, injustice rampant and growing, relationships and marriage breakups increasing, poverty getting worse, our schools now produce paper graduates, illiteracy and it just goes on, where is hope?

Nigeria, where is hope?

Nigeria, an oil producing country, rich in solid minerals and the most populous nation in Africa, yet more than 70% of it's citizens live below $2 a day, where is hope?

Our leaders amass wealth and loot the treasury, our representatives allocate huge salaries and benefits to themselves, our security and law enforcement agencies shoot us at will and extort bribes from us forcefully, our judges betray us by conniving with rogues to deny us justice, where is hope?

In our sadness we wallow in poverty and despair, many plagued with the mental delusion that God will come down to salvage the situation, in fear we fail to face and tackle our oppressors, waiting for a miracle that won't come. Even our churches are not spared as it has become money making machines where stylish pastors amass billions of naira to fund their flamboyant lifestyles and build monumental structures all in the name of God, people are now more materialistic than ever in their quest for material prosperity and miracles in place of virtues and good works which should be central in our worship. Nigeria, where is hope?

We are drained mentally, emotionally, psychologically, logically, morally..... as we watch our country plunge deep into darkness. We are also in a tribal war for power and money, every ethnic group wants to rule the nation not because of love for the nation but just to get a share of the oil loot, there is hatred and intolerance among brothers and sisters, where is hope?

We have allowed our hearts and mind to become lawless and highly corrupt to the extent that another name for Nigeria is corruption, it now seem many Nigerians live and worship money out of desperation to live big like our leaders who we see building mansions and driving expensive cars. Our youths have turned to violence, cultism, prostitution and drugs to survive in this desert of joblessness and frustration, while some lucky ones with talents are discovered and flown out of the country.

INJUSTICE, CORRUPTION RULE THE LAND!

You can imagine in a country we call a democratic state, we have a cabal that is bent on holding onto power, they are the "Untouchables" who are above the law and are answerable to no one. They loot our treasury, rape and oppress the poor at will, even our courts bow and lick their foot at the slightest provocation as corruption cases are quashed and swept under the carpet.

With all that have happened and is happening, I am forced to question the authenticity of our sovereignty, is this place we call Nigeria still a country? Why hope when there seem to be no reason to hope? I believe the hope we seek lies in what we are doing now, as individuals, are we not part of the decay? collecting bribe, cheating, killing, substituting fear with wishful talks, allowing evil to reign, allowing corrupt politicians and leaders to bribe and rule, selling your votes to corrupt leaders, thuggery, carrying out internet scams, religious fanaticism, ethnic bigotry...... we do all these and still call God, we do all these and wish for change, we do all these and still wish for a better Nigeria.... What a hopeless situation!

I believe that the hope we seek is only a mirage and will remain unattainable as long as we continue to pay lip service to injustice and oppression in Nigeria. Are things going to change for the better? only time will tell!

It was a mild drama at Muritala mohammed international Airport today around 2:30pm Nigeria time when DSS and EFCC officers arrested former president Olusegun Obasanjo on his way out of the country.

The former president who was said to be wearing a white Agbada with a black shoe was arrested by DSS with Hand cuff in his hand the moment he arrived at the airport this afternoon. As at time we are filing this report, former Governor of Lagos state Asiwaju Bola Amed Tinubu was also said to have been arrested by DSS in his residence no 26, Bourdilion road, Ikoyi Lagos.

The main reason for the arrest of these two prominent politicians is yet to be Known but our source has it that EFCC and ICPC has sent different letters of invitation to former president Olusegun Obasanjo and TInubu due to different allegations which was levelled against them but they refused to yield to their request.
Former president Olusegun Obasanjo was said to have been involved in Herlibuton bribery case and according to the on going Investigation by the National Assembly on power sector, an underground source has it that the former president was said to have embelzzled 570billion naira which was budgeted for the power sector from 2005-2007.

According to our conversation with one of the EFCC officers who refused to reveal his identity, he stated that Tinubu was said to have embelzzled 63billion from 1999-2007 when he was the former Governor of Lagos state. According to the source,Tinubu, his wife and his Lawyer and president Olusegun Obasanjo were said to be on their way but their arrival is yet to be confirmed by the EFCC
The arrest of the two prominent politicians is due to president Mohammadu Buhari Zero tolerance to corruption and his determination to fight corruption not minding whose Ox is Gored.

As Nigerians mark the 25th anniversary of annulment of June 12 Presidential election today, Lagos State Government, yesterday, demanded that the video and voice records of late Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (M. K. O.) Abiola’s last moments be made public.

The government spoke through Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Kehinde Bamigbetan, at this year’s International Archives Day commemoration organised by the State Records and Archives Bureau, LASRAB, in Ikeja.

According to Bamigbetan, “as we get ready to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the death of late Chief M. K. O. Abiola, it is a remarkable and evolutionary day, and it is very evolutionary to demand that the records of that day, when he took that tea, be revealed.”

Speaking, Governor Akinwumi Ambode, represented by the Commissioner for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Relations, Mr. Oluseye Oladejo, said the theme of the day, Records and Archives Management in Public Service: A Key to Good Governance and Quality Service Delivery, was a statement of fact that could not be overemphasised.
