Description of Our Cable Laying Winch:

The winch works as a capstan winch with a double-capstan drum and storage drum. This execution ensures a gentle treatment of the traction rope, which is wound up only under slight tension. Furthermore, force and speed of rope are independent of the winding diameter of the storage drum.

Drive: A Lombardini-Diesel-motor with speed control drives a hydraulic control gear, consisting of a variable pump and constant-speed-motor, which works in a closed circuit and allows a continuously variable adjustment of the rope speed. The pump regulation is effected manually. A bypass valve stops the drive immediately in case of emergency. A feed pump connected to the variable pump, regularly supplies the oil circulation with fresh oil, which will be absorbed from the hydraulic oil magazine by a suction filter and which is separated as waste oil resp. flushing oil.

Control: The winch is controlled manually. The bypass valve can be closed when the control lever of the pump is in zero position. The resp. signal is given by the supervisory lamp of the winch. The variable pump with the control lever is swinging over in the same direction as the rope tread is directed and then will be blocked at the intended speed of rope. For effecting a sudden stand-still of the winch motor (emergency stop) the unit is equipped with an impulse sender. Another impulse sender is operating automatically in case of exceeding the adjusted position of max. pulling power.

Measuring device: The winch is equipped with a dial gauge and pulling force limiter which allows to set the max. allowed pulling force and which will limit it to the adjusted force.

Building – Frame: The winch aggregate is mounted on a single axle frame with overrunning brake, is equipped with a height adjustable towbar, changeable from DIN loop to a ball-type traction eye as well as a height adjustable supporting wheel, mounted on the towbar. During operation the winch is secured at the in-come of the rope with two drawable and height adjustable grip feet and is placed in front on two height adjustable supports. The mud-guards are made out of resistant plastic.

The winch can be equipped with a PVC canopy or a metal cover.
