Foreign Affairs / Re: Saudi Arabia Is Fighting On The Side Of Israel? (photo) by Congrats321(m): 4:05pm On Apr 14
Is it a targeted killing like some other religion targets christians and separates them for killing? Have you not heard of boko Haram and al shabaab ask passengers in a car to disembark and then order Muslims to one side and christians to the other for killing? I will share a link with you. Spit is the worst form of contempt but its not killing. Is it?

mu2sa2:
The palestinian christians isrealis are killing with reckless abandon aren't christians in your eyes! BTW, spitting at somebody or something is the worst form of contempt.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Saudi Arabia Is Fighting On The Side Of Israel? (photo) by Congrats321(m): 1:55pm On Apr 14
Indeed, Some Jews spit at Christians but that's ok. Have you heard of Jews slaughtering Christians? Or separating christians in a group from Muslims and massacring them? If no, we can live with spitting.

Accepted Jews spit on christians but do Jews also k'll christians?

mu2sa2:
In fact Jews have little or no regard for Christians. To this day, it's a tradition among Jews to spit at Christian priests and when passing by a church. Go to youtube there are videos of this. Jews regard Christians as atheists on account of their belief in trinity but see Muslims as worshipping One God as Jews. The issue between isreal and Palestinians is all about land, not religion. Saudi Arabia and other Arab nations do not hate Jews, they're only supporting the Palestinian quest for their own state. In fact, Saudi Arabia was on the brinks of establishing diplomatic ties with isreal before the present gaza war broke out. The only condition the Saudi set was that there must be verifiable timeline for an independent Palestinian state. It baffles me how some confused Christians especially in Nigeria have carried their islamaphobia too far thinking every thing isreal does, such as the ongoing genocide in gaza, must be supported by Christians. Ironically, the isrealis do not separate Christian and Muslim Palestinians when unlishing terror on them.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Iran's Statement To The United Nations About Its Attack On Israel by Congrats321(m): 6:58am On Apr 14
The thing is who has confirmed it is Israel that attacked the Iranian embassy in Syria?

samonak:
Israel drew the first blood. Attacking the Iranian embassy in Syria which resulted in the killing of 7 Senior military officers is an act of war. The hypocrisy of the West and United Nations in general is evident is in their continued silence. Israel can eliminate their enemies any where in the world but the choice of hitting an embassy of a sovereign nation, was a little too far and also an open declaration of war. As expected, Iran has to retaliate, if for anything but to save face. The domino effect will be massive and would threaten the stability of the gulf region.

Jonathan was incapable yet he kept inflation at Single digit for two years back to back?

butterfly777:

Stop blaming people for voting Jonathan out in 2015. Jonathan spent about 6 years in power and had proven himself incapable of helping the country. It was obvious he wasn't the answer and people just needed a change.

Before then, Buhari had tried like 3 times but he couldn't defeat Obasanjo, Yaradua and even Jonathan at first. But since Jonathan did not work, and Buhari was the main alternative then, people had little choice than to give him a try then. It is a simple happenstance and we can't really blame anyone for voting Buhari then.

But now we have a choice.

Anyway, who says Peter Obi will win in the five Igbo states?

Can't you feel the mood of the country today?

By NOBODY WILL VOTE FOR OBI AS PRESIDENT IN THE NORTH YOU MEAN PETER OBI WILL SCORE ZERO VOTES IN THE 19 NORTHERN STATES?

Teenaira:

You can deceive others but stop deceiving yourself. Igbo have 5 states, Peter Obi can not win 3 of those 5 states and that is all. I am sure Kwankwaso knows this much, so I don't see him destroying his political structure by being a VP to Obi. Immediately he does that he will lose almost all his votes in the north. NOBODY will vote for a Peter Obi president in the north.

Politics / Re: Since Independence, Nigeria’s Per Capita Income Highest Under Jonathan by Congrats321(m): 1:18pm On Oct 03, 2021
There were thieves yet none convicted till date.

BafanaBafana:
For those who don't know what per capita income is, it is calculated by adding the wealth of everyone in the country and dividing by the whole country. Basically, I very wealthy man in a country can boost the per capita income. As it is, if the you remove the wealth of the 5 billionaires in Nigeria (Dangote, Adenuga, Rabiu, Alakija and Otedola) the per capita income will be slashed into halve.
Jonathan, as we know ran a majorly kleptocratic government, where anyone who was previleged to steal could do so without fear of rebuff. As a matter of fact, anyone who dare complained about the organized looting was sacked (see the case of sanusi Lamido). As a result of this, a few people got very rich. Owners of private jets trippled as the country was looted into recession.
It was therefore only natural that the per capita income would be high, since there were several wealthy thieves at that time.

You heard!

Since independence, Nigeria’s per capita income highest under Jonathan, Yar’Adua
At $2,792, Nigeria made the highest average per capita income under Goodluck Jonathan.
ByYusuf Akinpelu October 1, 2021 3 min read
The value of Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product is the reason it is often referred to as the largest economy in Africa, and this is often the selling point for successive administrations in the country.

So this explains why every Nigerian government is quick to flaunt a rise in GDP, as did President Muhammadu Buhari in the televised 61st independence broadcast on Friday.

“We recovered from economic recession in quarter four of 2020 with a GDP growth rate of 0.11%, and grew by 0.51% and 5.01% in real terms in the first and second quarters of 2021,” the Nigerian leader said.

An earlier analysis of data from the World Bank by this newspaper showed that Mr Buhari, in his first coming as a military leader, owns the record of the administration with the highest GDP growth since independence. His democratic tenure, however, lags behind some military juntas and civilian administrations.

However, because GDP growth does not mean improved standard of living and quality of life of a population, GDP per capita becomes an alternative measure to estimate the average amount in the pocket of each person in a country.

It is measured by dividing the country’s GDP by its population.

How does each administration since independence rank in terms of GDP performance?

Per capita income since independence
At $2,792, Nigeria made the highest average per capita income under Goodluck Jonathan. Under his predecessor, Musa Yar’Adua, it was $2,138 per head, according to data from the World Bank.

President Buhari’s tenure as of 2020 had averaged $2,097. This is followed by Mr Shagari whose administration averaged $1,530, followed by Mr Obasanjo’s eight-year democratic rule with $1,064.

The lowest regime averages were recorded under Mr Abacha with $455; Mr Shonekan, $321; Mr Gowon, $223; Mr Aguiyi-Ironsi, $124; and Tafawa Balewa, $105 in the First Republic.

The years between 2002 and 2020 returned the highest per capita income, with 2012 to 2014 having the highest respective returns. 1980 to 1985, under Messrs Shagari and Buhari, were the only years outside of the 21st century ranked in the top 25.

Unsurprisingly, the immediate years after independence had the lowest per capita record.

Nigeria lags behind
Some countries that were economic peers of Nigeria have been able to ramp up their per capita income over the years, but Nigeria has not.

For instance, in 1990 Nigeria’s per capita income was around $568, about two times China’s $348. By 2020, Nigeria’s figure grew to $2,097, only about four times what it was three decades ago. Within the same period, China’s per capita income had topped $10,484 (thirty times more).

It means the Chinese, who once had in their pockets only about half of what Nigerians had 30 years ago, now have about five times more money than their Nigerian counterparts.

But economists discourage comparing a country’s per capita income with another’s because many variables determine the figure.

Per capita income is not without its own limitations. Like GDP growth, it does not always reflect the accurate standard of living of the people.

One of its limitations is that its calculation does not factor in inflation rate, a key determinant of consumer purchasing power.

Another is that, because the entire population is considered, a country with a huge population of children, old, sick and other age groups not actively engaged in economic activities, would have a skewed figure.

You are very wrong, Diplomatic passport confers immuinity on the bearer, in this case Tunde gets a Blue passport as a NIA agent, Retired Service Chief gets Blue passport as ambassador

Why did you think UK, US and Nigeria couldn't prosecute Diezena Madueke?! Because she has a Dominican Diplomatic Passport signed by their President

Why did you think Wiki leaks boss couldn't be extradited or prosecuted in US or Turkish Journalist Murderers and Saudi crown prince not prosecuted
