Most teachers of public schools in Oyo State resumed work on Monday in compliance with the state government directive to that effect. A News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) correspondent who went to the schools, the reports that as at 8am on Monday, the number of teachers seen in most public schools visited in ibadan was significant.

The Academic Staff Of Universities (ASSU) has cautioned the federal government against re-opening the nation's schools. The nation's learning spaces have been shut since March as one in a raft of measures to curb the spread of novel coronavirus disease (COVID 19) In the face of the rising number of infection, amid gradual easing of lockdown measures by state and federal governments, Minister of state for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba announced last week that a presentation has been made to the national assembly on the prospond dates for reopening of schools across country. This was disclosed during the JAMB Policy meeting that was held on June 16th, 2020.

The candidates scored between 352 and 365 in their UTME. Two candidates from Anambra State were overall best with 365 and 363 scores, respectively.

The third candidate is from Edo State with 359 while two candidates from Ekiti made the list on the fourth and fifth positions, scoring 358 and 356 respectively.

Another two candidates from Delta also scored 359 and 352 respectively.

Other states that appeared on the list are Ekiti, Ondo, Akwa Ibom, Kwara, Oyo, and Ogun states.

Out of the 13 listed candidates, two scored 359, two, 355, while four candidates scored 352.

The 2020 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria has approved 160 as the minimum cut-off mark for admission into universities. Polytechnics cut-off mark was put at 120 and above while that of the Colleges of Education stands at 100 and above.

Speaking at the meeting, Adamu Adamu, Minister of Education, directed JAMB and tertiary institutions to proceed with the conduct of 2020/2021 admissions. Admission processes are expected to commence in August based on the guidelines released by JAMB.
