We are talking about people who are addicted already (they masturbate excessively to porn). If you masturbate in moderation, you will also feel good and relaxed after the act which is healthy. But the problem is because masturbation is cheap, and easy to do coupled with easy access to different explicit porn videos most people over do it and get addicted. Assuming we are living in World where there is no porn, most people will not get addicted.
If you masturbate without porn let's say two times a day depending on ur libido you will be satisfied and it might even take you the next 2 or 3 days b4 doing it again which is perfectly fine. No, it does not have the same effect, the reason is this. The major cause of the addiction is the porn. Porn scenes are hyper-stimulating triggers that lead to unnaturally high levels of dopamine secretion. So when you are having normal sex with a partner, your body naturally secretes normal dopamine. And even if u are having too much sex with a partner, you can only experience sex exhaustion in which your body can naturally recover if you pause for some time, rest and eat good food. Also, note that whenever you have natural sex with a partner, you feel satisfied, happy and relaxed. (Feeling like a champion..lolz) This will boost your self-esteem and your overall mental health. On the other hand, if you masturbate to porn after the act, you will start feeling guilty, regretful and sad which will lead to depression and your overall mental health is messed up. So the effect is not the same.
