Even if you can't raise a broom stick...at least you can protest as the gallant youths are now doing. The best you can do is to shut up...a mourn your grieve in secret.. |

Sense should come to bear in all these killings. A lasting conference of ethnic nationalities should be called and the our existence should be re-negotiated. Using force of arm will never bring lasting solution to the myriad of problem in Nigeria. Nothing seems to be working...despite our wealth and large human resources... Something is definitely wrong with Nigeria... |

ABUJA – The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari and his Service Chiefs to wake up to their responsibilities in order to end the rising spate of bloody killings in many communities across the nation. CAN President, Rev Samson Olasupo Ayokunle, in a statement issued in Abuja by his Special Assistant, Media & Communications, Pastor Adebayo Oladeji, condemned the recent bloodbath in several parts of the country, which were carried out by armed men, since the last Christmas day celebration. According to him, “It is unfortunate that between Christmas and today, scores of innocent Christians have been killed across the nation as if all our security agencies are on holiday. What has become of intelligence gathering? These incessant killings are unacceptable, ungodly, wicked and reprehensible. “The last two years in Nigeria have recorded unprecedented killings by the criminal Fulani herdsmen and the Boko Haram terrorists with other religious extremists. “Christian Association of Nigeria calls on President Muhammadu Buhari and his security chiefs to wake up to their responsibilities and stop paying lips service to the security of lives and property. Nowhere is safe and secured in Nigeria despite all the huge amount of money being spent on defence. This is why many are asking questions on our security. “And for Abubakar Shekau to be claiming responsible for these killings are a dirty slap on the government that claims victory over terrorism. We wonder what the National Security Council is doing in their meetings. “Our political leaders are not bothered about the primary responsibility of any responsible government which is the security of lives and property instead it is how to remain in power forever. “We call on all right thinking Nigerians to condemn these dastardly acts. Their studied silence is an endorsement of these criminalities in the land.” While calling on political office holders and Heads of the security agencies to remember that they will give account of their stewardship to God sooner or later, the CAN President, identified with the bereaved and prayed to God to give them fortitude to bear their losses. bamidelee:Is Buhari doing the Igbos a favour? |
About 48 hours after the gruesome murder of up to 50 people and many injured...which included women and children, by fulani terrorists... I am yet to see people asking for prayers for the injured, like they are stupidily doing for the president's son. I have not also seen messages from the churches, politicians and even US, UK, Germany and French leaders. NOt even from our west African neighbours...Our president would have been among the first to call the presidents of these countries to show solidarity if even just three of their citizens were killed. Where is humanity in this cruel world.. I am in bad shape right now...

efighter:Look at this vulture? Where is your dumb python dance in Benue where it is needed most? You have 50 dead...deal with it... |
What will it cause the Burutai to round up all fulanis found in the vicinity, the same way he rounded up unarmed IPOB members? Is it because they are from the president's tribe? This is plain partiality. What a shame. |
Nigeria is in state of war at the hands of Boko people and Fulani herdsmen. Will will this end? |
He further call on the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Buratai, the Interior Minister Lt Gen Danbazau, the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Lawal Daura, the Inspector General of Police Ibrahim Idris to protect Benue community or "we rise in self-defense, which will amount to the second civil war." ------------------------------------------------- Civil war? Who will fight it? When you helped the same Islamic Fulanis to kill your neigbouring Christian Biafrans... you didn't think of it, abi...? Now how can tiny Benue fight the Fulanis who it seems are backed by the military...? |
Yaro emphasized that "if the Fulanis are not called to order by the relevant authorities to stop the ethnic cleansing like the lawless Fulanis are doing, Benue people shall take laws into their hands in self-defense". ------------------------------------------------------------------- ...but we have been hearing same thing all over... The criminal herdsmen will strike again....and yet...you make the same statement again... The herdsmen are they only group that strikes without making long speeches... |
Has the presidency made any statement yet? How can even one American be killed and the White House will not make any statemnet under 48 hours, talk more of 50 dead... God have mercy... |
I have said much about this hopeless, failing Lugard's contraption to no avail. I am JUST TIRED right now... Let the wish of God happen...as it will. |
