OLX.com is a very good place for buying and selling which was formerly known as Dealfish.com but scammers have turned it into something else, infact 99% of adverts you see on OLX is a fraud. Research carried out in Abuja Delta, Lagos & Portharcort has shown that more than 77people are being scammed daily on OLX.

The names used by some fraudsters on OLX include:
1. Pst. Anita Dakum
2. Mr. John Omotosho
3. Mr. James Jack
4. Prof. Jennifer Awangs & many more. Pls friends be careful in order not to be a victim, in fact the Nanny that Kidnapped those two children in Lagos actually came through OLX......

It is quite unfortunate that scammers are feeding fat through sites like OLX and the likes out there. Managers of these classifieds site have a responsibility to ensure that their sites have minimum risk exposure to fraudulent activities. I have noticed that in a quest to rapidly gain membership, most of these websites (OLX, JIJI, and co) allow even non-registered members to post Ads on their site without any form of verification or authentication. Anonymous people can just click on these sites post whatever they like using lots of different monikers and then launch a spamming or fraudulent attack on unsuspecting buyers. There is a security challenge at hand and OLX and the likes must step up to do all they can to curb the high level of scam on their sites.
