dtush: I was at the HR office to pick up my letter this morning. Just finished my medicals. Unfortunately, u are just supposed to pick up your letter n leave so i didnt have time to ask any questions. I also didnt see Timothy( the cheerful HR guy). What i do know is that 35 pple were picked from Lagos. The hospital nurse confirmed that number to me. She said thats the number of pple HB told them to expect, ( i over heard her talking to her a colleague)

Pls what did the medicals entail? let me start getting my mind prepared for any injections...

Yeah...so I just called and I was asked my location. When I told him he said they will get back to those of us in Ph. They are making arrangements and they will get back to us before the end of today or tomoro...so... I think it's just Lagos peeps that have done theirs. So, we're still on track..

BTW, he sounded very nice... That's one thing I have noticed so far, they all sound very nice.

Blackheath: @ the people who asked...the medical is for today and tomorrow, I am in Lag. Some of u that didn't even get the "Success" email can call and ask...state ur name, who knows maybe the mail didn't deliver cos it has happened to me in various stages of this process..Peace

Guy, I know all that, it's simple logic...My saying 10 is just a joke cos here alone ppl who got it are more than 10 so... However I made a lot of friends during the recruitment stages and so far just two of us has gotten and we all saw the ED...so...

Yes, other companies take up to one yr but ppl who asked were given the impression that TS wud start very soon so the reactions are natural.

Congrats to those who have gotten theirs! Now it's making a whole lot of sense cos I was wondering if we wud be like 10 in TS since very few got theirs yesterday.

Mine was the same and I have never had any conflicting address or email or name or location. However, I have a friend who recieved it and he stays outside PH but was interviewd here...so...

emmaxcojil: I concor.....the info i believe they are particular about is ur location, if u logically analyse the mail u will see dat dat is d one much emphasis was laid on, probably some folks have conflicting/multiple addresses in the pre-interview data they filled and their CV. The Name,Phone No and Email stuff is just a means of further confirmation dat u are d particular candidate wit the address. SO PLS CALM DOWN AND WAIT FOR THE MEDICAL/TS INVITES ............ All the same congrats to all those dat got d mail.

But if you look at it carefully, they did not ask for address, just ur current location. I shud think they already have that info too considering that when the other msgs were sent, they wud tell you where to go for ur interviews...

infact all the info they asked for they already have cos they sent it to ur mail, and ur phone and ur name was clearly written there...let's wait and see sha...

Guy, I said, 'EXCEPT you will be posted to Germany', and that is figurative for not every course offered at the university is relevant to banking in itself... Your attending a university is...not the course in itself...

Anyway, it's just my opinion sha...

My point exactly is it can be termed 'eye service' if we are expected to have some experience in banking... So even tho we are all tensed, let's give everyone a benefit of a doubt.

spdf: Which 1 b "fake grad trainee", no mata ur discipline, as far as u fill in for fresh graduate positn, u are as gud as a novice.... Madam, Engineering, Arts, Sciences , Law all av applications in Banking, its a mata of fixing u to wer fits u based on ur background and skills..
So , the HR of all banks in Nigeria know exactly wot dey are doin.. We ll all get aquaited to it wen we get dere..
BTw, B.Sc Banki n Finance, did u by any way undergo SIwES or IT? Sm of u dnt av d practical xperience. All of us na JJC!!

What I mean by real graduate trainees are people who they will train and employ based on the training they have given you. Yes, some disciplines have applications in banking (I say 'some' cos except you will be posted to Germany, I dnt see how studying German in school will help ur case)...anyway, whether ur course has an application or not, you will still be trained. The guys you are referring to are not JJCs like us o..dnt gerrit twisted...abi u no see the big big banking jargons they r using? Who never work for bank go fit sabi dat one?

Truth is, they will definitely have an edge. And I'm open to giving myself whatever edge I can get.

Lol...HEY!,I am not fighting with or making a jab at anyone with my BBA reference. I just noted two things I have seen here, that talking about banking is better than. Seriously tho, I dnt even have any hatchet to bury with anyone...I'm cool with everyone...whatever helps us feel better while we wait for HB.

About the eye service thingy, well, some of us read very unrelated courses and have no related experience whatsoever but we still got to meet the ED. That tells me that HB wants real graduate trainees for it's graduate trainee positions. Even during the interviews, I dnt think anyone was asked if the have any experience in banking...so...I dunno...

obassey: I really appreciate the enthusiasm expressed on this thread, but this feels without trying to sound rude a little show-offish in my opinion. I mean,it is a graduate trainee position we all applied for so y r u trying to lecture us. I sincerely don't see the point. It is ok to update us on the success or recent happenings in Heritage bank but to come here and start talking about clearing officer and e payment is totally unnecessary. i dont mean to rain on ur parade,except u have a good reason why u r doing it or there are potential customers on this thread i suggest u stop now please and stop making the rest of us with no bank experience feel bad.All we need to know about banking will be covered during TS.

I mean, no knowledge is lost. At least if in training school we are asked who has heard about Bailor and Bailee, I will be first to raise up my hand...

Abeg na? This thread is for graduate trainees please. If you want to start ur own training school,open a thread for it, or better still, start from the beginning here...some of us dnt know jack about banking. We just know that they always look pretty.

Dnt get me wrong o, I am willing to learn from you guys but you have to start from the beginning so that you can carry everyone along.

Me I have experience in e-banking. I know how to check my balance and withdraw money from the ATM
