Try to check your recent backlinks with tools like Ahrefs. If your Google rankings are still very much ok, then someone is definitely loading your backlink profile with highly spammy backlinks and this might cause a drop in your rankings too.

Could be one of those your unending enemies here on Nairaland

So what is my calling then...note: I have no problem with my earnings, no drop at all...am only worried people take Alexa Rankings seriously and it will affect the decisions of my advertise if I don't get this solved

You see whenever i have blogging issues i hardly ever come to NL again cos you almost never get sophisticated answers here, that's if anyone ever answers at all. I go to a closed USA WordPress users and developers forum and there get amazing things.

Months back when i changed my url from .html to / i was in trouble and could find no help here. A webmaster here by the name of Henry-kene told me to pay 8k quick for hiim to fix it. I had no cash so i went to the US forum and droped the question and voila... king coders came out to quarrel over the right code to do it right

In the end, i got a line of code no less than 15 characters long, put it in my .htaccess file and all fine. 8k saved.

Yes, sir, i have learned many things and one of them is that even when your Google affairs seem fine if there is a flaw in your site like a plugin or code adding spammy links your Alexia Ranking will tell you first by falling even before Google hits you. Sometimes someone can even be adding that link somewhere else on the web.

Doing that search i told you will show you all the links on the web connected to your domain but google will put all the worthless links and spam in its last pages and those are the ones that can cause your ranking to go down even when all seems fine

You said the ranking was getting worse, that's odd. Something is wrong or else it should stop falling. Stay fixed for a while then start climbing back up

So i signed up for Alexa to certify my site metrix, I was able to setup everything...I checked my inbound link, its showing some strange domain but Google analytics is showing the perfect backlinks...

So it seems I was having some spammy domain linking to my site which I clearly know nothing about, and Alexa is picking it up.

Thanks for the helpful tips...I will look for a more sophisticated forum to lay all my issues on

If you have over 500 articles on your site do this ....

*. Skip to the last 2 pages of the search results and check each link carefully if they are actually relevant articles on your site.

Everything seems fine with google tho...but my issue is with Alexa...an improving traffic from Google should mean an Improving alexa ranking right? But its getting worst instead.

I guess you are one of them... enemies are good to have, and I care less.

I have a lot of enemies I don't even know here...like the one that clicked bomb my adsense so Google can disable it. (I had security in place for that)

In my 5+ years of blogging I have been paying close attention to this ranking issue and from your issue, this is what I think is the issue.

1. That blackout
2. The source of your traffic

Your Ranking must fall with any blackout but 60% of the time, it will never climb back to its former height as fast as it fell.
Again, pay attention to where your traffic comes from

One last thing. don't go thinking that Alexa Ranking is the same thing as Google ranking .... noooo. Alexa Ranking has a lot to do with the kind of people visiting your site while google is concerned more with numbers of people.

If you can get 200 consistent visitors from anywhere organic, goggle will send you more but don't be suprised if you ranking doesn't improve. I've seen it before

I know the difference between Google and Alexa ranking but my problem is...why will a site of 35-40k monthly pagviews have such figure in Alexa nd its getting worst.

Talking about my traffic source...
See screenshot below and see I don't get traffic from shady websites...it's mainly organic

So before the 7 days my website server was down, my Alexa Ranking was improving... then after the blackout, rankings drop to upto a million

My traffic started coming back and surprisingly, my google search rankings improved and I was getting 2k daily paageviews...

But the problem here is, my alexa ranking is dropping even with the traffic.
I usually won't care about Alexa but some potential advertisers will look at it before dealing with me.

Any idea why its happening?

You're not being realistic...U want 300 high quality backlinks and high DA and salary is 100k.

Do you know how much to get LIB to collect your sponsored post and even allow your link in it?
Abi when u talk of high quality backlinks u don't mean the quality of naijaloaded,LIB and other top domains?
