Okeke_Onyi: Normally if academic calender is followed...there is usually a week gap btw returning students and freshers resumption date...BUT the case is so different here,because we d returning students are resuming on Monday 6th January without any academic calender...we don't even know how much we are paying as fees this session, portal is not even open to use talkless of freshers....However I strongly believe all those issues will b resolved by very soon(like in 2 weeks time) by d admirable management of Uniosun.....so please once more u should relax...Is not how early resume that matters,but how prepared u are.no doubt..tnx |

Below are the break-down of the academic calender for first half of the 2012/2013 academic year of the University of Osun, osun State. 8th August: Management Meeting 27th August-14th Sept: Opening of e-portal for registration and payment of fees for all returning undergraduates. 3rd September: Commencement of 2012/2013 Academic Session 3rd September: Fresh students report for registration 7th September: Verification of certificates and registration of fresh students 3rd - 14th September: E- Registration for fresh students on E-Portal 5th September: Management Meeting (10a.m) 5th September: Congregation (2.p.m) 10th - 14th September: Orientation for fresh students 11th September: Academic Planning Sub-Committee 12th September: College Board (Science, Engineering & Technology; Management and Social Sciences; Humanities and Culture). 13th September: College Board (Agriculture; Education; Health Sciences and Law) 14th September: Returning undergraduates resume for the 2012/2013 Academic Session 14th September: Committee of Provosts, Deans and Directors 17th - 21st September: Late Registration for fresh student. **wit dis,i think it ought to be a difference of 1 week***. |

Okeke_Onyi: All freshers should work & prepare towards the following dates....20th January, 27th January or 3rd February 2014....all indications n permutations favours one of those dates as ur resumption date.please freshers should relax...take it...b patient...use this time to repackage yourselves...while u wait...for d announcement of d official resumption date for freshers....I think academic calendar shouldn't b ur priority at d moment.i wish any of those date neva turn out to be real, Jan 13 is okay 4 resumption. If any of those date turn out to be resumption date for fresherz,then when wil they commence clearance,registration n orientation etc..if fresherz ha to resume on Jan 13th,hw sure is it dat lectures won't start in Feb self.. |

Okeke_Onyi: after u have finished making d full payment of ur school fees...u will collect 4 pink files which u would b asked to submit back from ur collage office... one of d files will contain original doc...while d remaining will contain photocopies....d contents of d files will includes ,dat developmental levy is it 4 only indigene? If no,then hw can sum1 pay? |

Danielsachs: Heard from someone that Freshers will resume a month after stale students' resumption date.....is that possible guys?a month is too much o,fresherz cant even start receiving lecture if they resume in Jan self. |

ASUU leaders assault journalists in Minna over strike report After hours of endless waiting by journalists, leaders of the Academic Staff Union of University, emerged from the Senate Building of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, venue of the National Executive Committee meeting of the union, to harass the anxious newsmen. They shouted repeatedly, “who invited these stupid people.” One of the notable members of the Union that instructed security men to order the journalists to leave the building is the Chairman of ASUU in FUT, Minna, Dr. Abdulfatai Jimoh, who went ahead to assault the Daily Trust correspondent, Aliyu Hamagan. Jimoh had earlier thought Hamagan was a member of the Union and invited him to come closer. He then asked, “Who brought this stupid people inside? What are they doing here?” Hamagan, however, responded, “I am one of the people you are calling stupid. I will not have you insult us like that.” Jimoh, on finding out that he was speaking with a journalist, pushed Hamagan and asked him to leave the premises, saying, “You people are intruding, we did not invite you. Get out of this place now.” The meeting, which started at about 11.30am and holding in behind closed doors at the Senate Building of the FUT, Minna, was ongoing at the time of filing this report at about 7pm. The scenario took another twist when members of ASUU NEC LOC emerged to inform journalists that some of them (ASUU) are not comfortable with the presence of the pressmen. Jimoh, who was at this time furious, threatened the media men, saying “Anything wey una see, make una take am like that, because we didn’t invite the media.” However, there was a disagreement among the members over the presence of the media. Some suggested that the journalists should stay because they were doing their job, others persisted that “we did not invite them. When we need them, we will invite them.” The Vice Chancellor FUT, Minna, Prof. Musbau Akanji, who got the news that ASUU assaulted some journalists, rushed to the venue pleading with the journalists. “Although, I am not a part of the meeting, but I am apologising on their behave because they are in my territory. This place (FUT, Minna) is a Federal Government institution, and it is a public place that everybody including journalists can enter especially when they are discharging their responsibilities,” Akanji said. |
