because majority of Nigerians have chosen not to develop themselves and are always looking for where is green and not making it green by all means for their generations. majority now believes being an american citizen now is way out and so they go deliver abroad . if the african americans get ill treatment now what will be said of an american whose both parents are african in the future, I usually dont say this , but will a chinese complain about racism as much as a black man does . obama was at apec some weeks back and tried to see if china and america can have a review of their immigration laws to allow more free movement. would a chinese be dealt with the same way with a nigerian now . No one will treat you so ill if they find they will gain from you . this is just the truth. There is racism , but we dont have to talk down the white man for being a racist , we gotta do what it is for us to be wanted so bad.

Have seen racism displayed in America too, but you are gonna meet nice people every now and then and as long as you stay on your lane, you won't be experiencing unnecessary embarrassment.you want to watch out for that anytime you are out in a white man's land

No sane nation empowers a reckless and insensitive leader like ours.......selling arm to us at this time when peeps are desperate to cling to power and some to lay hold on power is like empowering fools for the day of battle.I rise!

Mine is not about an experience , but for those of you willing to do anything to come to the states,do not try it if you do not have a valid reason to do so! If you want to run, trust me, you will be in hotter soup when you get here! I live here and I know this for a fact! the USA of today is a far cry from the USA of 10-20 yrs ago, a word is enough for the wise!
So true

Got to share this one. My mum & aunts gave me the gist tho. When they went for their interview. The guy just before them went to the booth and was denied a visa barely 2 minutes later & the guys starts screaming at his interviewer "who the hell do you think you are?! do you know me?!! you think you can come to my country & disrespect me?!!! you deny a whole me visa!!!! Shey its this Lagos, I have marked your face, I will deal with you!!!!. You better be sleeping here o!!!!! just make sure I dont see you on the road because I will teach you a lesson!!!!! Seconds later he is escorted out by security still yelling...till today it still cracks them up!
I can't stop laughing.

On my 1st visit to the US embassy, my first funny experience was a woman who was going to visit her son in the US who left Nigeria since 2002 but never returned or visited Nigeria as at 2011. She doesn't speak English so the VO had to call a Yoruba lady to help interpret. The woman said she wanted to visit the US for only 2 weeks to warn the soon that if he doesn't follow her back that when he dies, none of his children will be there to bury him. We all laughed as it was extreme.

There were also 2 guys who were acting oyinbo speaking so many grammar and chose not to seat down even after the security guys came to meet them. At some point they became center of attention with their big big grammar. Unfortunately, when they were denied, their reaction was so funny that we all had to laugh.

Another one was when we were about entering into the embassy and a guy decided to move ahead of me when we were arranged in 5's to go into the interview room. We were interviewed simultaneously and he was denied while I got mine. On our way out, he told me I got his visa and all I could do then was to laugh.
@warning...That's so funny

I was there a week back around 6:30am. We all waited patiently for the first interview and hoped that if his/her visa was granted the goodluck would rub off on the rest of us....for where?

It was a lady and her interview took place in booth 7. She claimed that she was going to attend a seminar sponsored by a company she distributes for here in Nigeria. After the VO found her not eligible for the visa, he was about handing over her documents when the lady said, "Oga, please hold on to it, my interview can't be over". Then VO repeated that "you are ineligible", while he was saying this, the lady keep on explaining how many clients she has, how much she makes... vo repeated himself, Lady also repeated her self. At that point everyone laughed so hard. The lady left a few seconds later.

My own unusual experience.

Same day as above. While waiting in line outside, I discovered that I was feeling some fresh air around my toes, on both feet. When I looked down, the sole of my shoe was coming off from the front. Horror!!! I've not even entered the Consulate yet. Why me? With each step I took, more of the sole was coming off, got to a point I couldn't lift my feet to walk, I dragged them, I was already in the interviewing area at this point.

I kept on praying for this little incidence not to cause any visa denial. It didn't. After it was approved, I majestically walked out with half of the sole of my shoe gone. When people waiting outside saw me, there laughed, and I thought within myself......"dey laugh me, make you no go face your own interview"
grin grin

Anyone ever been to the U.S embassy Walter Carrington lagos.I was there sometimes ago with a friend to process our student visa. I saw a lot of funny things.the crowd there was similar to that of the redemption camp at a distance grin grin grin.I saw a lot of folks kitted like business men, some from the word go I already denied them in my mind.funniest of my experience that day was a lady who was interviewed just before me.she claimed she was going to see her uncle in Atlanta whose wife just gave birth.the consular asked if she has a job to which she said yes.without asking she said she works in an oil and gas company;name have never heard before, the address she gave was right beside my house....lol.I tapped myself to wake myself up from the dream...the consular asked how many month was she gonna help babysit the child as she claimed...she said 8months...the consular denied her and here she goes kneeling down.please sir for heaven sake, for the sake of this new baby pls give me this visa...I literally busted into an uncontrollable laughter as the security guys showed her the way out.it was such a gorycomical sight.guys share your funny experience at the us embassy

The ones making first class,in this so called difficult universities,Do they have 2 heads?.
People just love making excuses for failure.
Exactly my point. The average nigerian student wants to make a first class as a normal student.nothing of value comes easy.it comes with a cost if you don't pay the price it will always seem difficult.
