Prof. Andrew Efemini took to his facebook handle in reaction to the reply by the Uniport VC, Prof. Ndowa Lale and said he will meet with the VC in court.

Prof. Andrew Efemini in a post he titled “TIME TO RESIGN” also wondered why is Prof. Lale is playing ostrich about the illegal fees he is charging students.

TIME TO RESIGN

Prof. Lale Vice-Chancellor University of Port Harcourt pleads guilty to two issues in my petition demanding his immediate removal from office.

“He has accepted that election from Senate to Council did not follow the stipulated 4 years but that it was done by Senate members as gentleman’s agreement. The University Act states that there shall be no alteration of the composition of Council without the President’s approval.”

“On the issue of criminal concealment, Professor Lale simply called me names ranging from being unlawful and a criminal. I want to tell Prof. Lale that I took that document to him in 2016. I told him to change his strategy of dealing with the students. He became even more high handed instead of listen to me.”


“In 2018, the Registrar wrote me a warning letter which implicates the Vice-Chancellor. I was warned not to use the document in my possession against the university. The document in question is the NUC fees schedule.”


Prof. Andrew Efemini warned, “This warning letter is the climax of a year’s ordeal beginning with Police invitation, suspension, torture, neglect of medical report, and damaging impact on my students who lost the opportunity of contact with me during my suspension.


“Why is Prof. Lale playing ostrich about the illegal fees he is charging students. Funny remark “we don’t charge fees we only have charges” but the document says “schedule of fees”. There is a difference between fees and tuition fees.

“I will respond to every issue raised by the VC including using my little boy to portray me in bad light. I will not talk about his kids but let me say I am ashamed of Prof Lale for using my little boy.

“Nobody asked him about what needs to be done about the illegalities that have now come public.

“As predicable, Prof. Lale set up an illegal panel and used that panel to engage in self help. I understand that he has as usual suspended me for daring him as an Emperor.

“The battle for his removal as Vc has just started.

“I HOPE TO MEET PROF LALE IN COURT SOON. HOPEFULLY HE WILL BE DEFEATED JUST AS THE STUDENTS WHO DEFEATED US AT THE HIGH COURT.

“Prof. Lale should know he lives in a glass house and should stop throwing stone.

“Freedom cometh by struggle,” he stated.

Prof. Ndowa Lale Replies Prof. Efemini for calling for his removal over increment in Uniport Students Fees. According to the Vice Chancellor, In 2013 when Professor Efemini was Acting Dean of the Student Affairs Department, he deftly manufactured an elaborate scheme of mass deception through which he reportedly extorted N37,000.00 from each PartTime student in the U2008 set of Science Laboratory Technology (SLT) programme at the time. Over 2,000 unsuspecting students were deceived into paying N37,000.00 each into a secret account to which he was signatory, contrary to the established financial regulations of the University. The elaborate extortion scheme was concocted on the pretext that Professor Efemini would “regularise” the admission status of the affected students with the National Service Corps.

Quite characteristically, Professor Andrew Efemini has, once again, staged the latest of his televisionstyle prime time shows in the public space. In flagrant disregard of all the extant rules and regulations that govern the conduct of staff of the University of Port Harcourt, Professor Efemini of the Department of Philosophy has quite inexplicably continued in his accustomed, grandstanding, and publishing highly libellous and uttering slanderous materials against the person and office of the Vice Chancellor, other Principal Officers and other perceived ‘enemies’ on his self destructive path.

Professor Efemini’s litany of official infractions recently hit a new low with the publication of a highly libellous threepage document in which he levied all manner of unprintable allegations against the Vice Chancellor and demanded the “immediate removal” of Professor Ndowa Lale from office. Let it be known that the allegation that constituted grounds for the “immediate removal of Professor N. E. S. Lale from office as Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt” are mere concoctions from the warped mind of Professor Efemini and his gang of professional trouble makers.

In his now characteristic bravado and clownish shadowboxing exercise, Professor Efemini levied unprintable accusations against the office and person of the Vice Chancellor , without providing irrefutable evidence to back up his bogus and reckless claims. For instance, he accused the Vice Chancellor of “criminal concealment of information” on the Federal Government’s directive on payment of charges by students, which he confused with “school fees.” It should be noted that no Federal University is allowed to collect “school fees” from students. Discerning observers would expect a selfadvertised champion of students’cause to know the differences between“statutory charges” and “school fees.” Such selective short sightedness is typical of Professor Efemini in his haste to reach conclusions before verifying the facts of any matter.
