what are my chances of getting into mechanical engineering with 301 in jamb

do the recommendations also have to come in before the application deadline?

Feran14 was probably right when he talked about the ambiguity of jamb cutoffs for engineering courses. Nonetheless, having once been an engineering student there, I can tell you engineering at CU is very competitive. In my class, the average Jamb score was around 230 (the notorious 2009 jamb year). The subsequent set had jamb scores averaging 250 thereabout. It even gets more interesting with WAEC grades. With all those loyola jesuit, kings & Queens college peeps, 4A1s and above is commonplace (for the record CU attracts best waec candidates in most states. In 2010, Lagos' best Waec student enrolled at CU. In 2009, Ogun's best student did. In other news, in 2012, two Loyola alumni led the set of 1200 graduates with CGPAs of 4.89 and 4.88 coming 1st and 2nd respectively). It's quite surprising that even in GSTs that are art-oriented, engineering students typically lead the entire set of over 1500 students with their scores from the e-moodle site. Hope this gives you some heads up

thanks for the info, I just wanted to have an idea about the range. If the recommenders do not submit their forms does the application become invalid?

You are discouraging the guy o....thank God me I am applying for an easy course Policy and Strategic Studies and I even scored above 200 in Jamb plus 3 distinctions in WAEC.

according to their admissions website

"A 500-word statement of purpose should be prepared and submitted online with the application. The personal statement should address your intellectual interests, academic and professional objectives, visions and goals for life. Please review the academic programmes for details."

the sponsorship letter should be writtten by whoever is going to be paying you school fees stating that they are going to be responsible for your education and they are capable of doing it.
since it is a formal letter, it should be short and precise..probablt two paragraphs and not more than one page

covenant university does not release post utme cut off marks as far as i know. but jamb cut off mark would be realesed probably after jamb is done and all results are released.

CUSAS(post utme) is from 1 june till the 13. you would be required to pick a date thats convenient for you after your registration is complete.
