Hello nairalanders, I'm thinking of changing my old phone getting a new one and I'm budgeting between 70k - 100k on the device.

My spec are phone with a excellent quality camera, battery life like 4500mah or lil higher with fast charge feature and 6/8gb rom space.

Pls note I'm not an iPhone fans so don't suggest iPhone and it should be a brand new phone. Thanks your suggestionis highly welcome

I haven't started using the phone yet cuz I have to change/cut my sim to a nano sim and I am still attached to my old phone but from what I read online as at January there was news from Samsung that the phone will soon run on Android 10.

I no sabi all those technical review as I no be tech blogger. But I believe you pick a phone that has features you need. Chose Samsung galaxy M30s due to the following features I needed:
Large screen - 6.4 inch
Battery capacity - 6000 mAh with fast charge
Screen Display - Super amoled
Memory - 4 GB/64 GB (with slot for memory card expandable up to 512 GB)
Camera - 48MP + 5MP + 8 MP rear camera and 16MP front camera.
Android 9

And the cost is affordable.

I just got the Samsung galaxy M30s for 71,990 from Jumia. It was 74,000 but I paid from the app and got extra discount from MasterCard to make it that price. Nice phone.

A brother needs help pls..I just got a Samsung A70 2days ago. I must confess, it being cool so far. The only problem I have is my inability to activate fonts..pls how can I do that? I heard Samsung phones comes with preinstalled fonts. Don't know how true anyway.

That's a dream bro. If they go any higher than Helio P22 then they will call it a flagship and slam 100k+ price tag on it.

Mediatek is a great company. Yes they made some mistakes earlier but they're improving. Last year they released the fantastic Helio G90T which is an awesome processor. The Helio G70 will be released this year along with the Dimensity 5G series which are meant to give Snapdragon a run for their money. There are also older chipsets like this Helio P60, P70, P90 which despite having not so good GPUs are quite capable.

But Transsion have swore to keep buying 2016 MTK 6580A, 2017 MTK6737, MTK6739 and MTK6762 (Helio P22) and we're in 2020. These chips are old and Mediatek have admitted apart from the Helio P22, the rest are not good. After plenty complaints, Tecno wants to release Camon 15 with Helio P35 while Nokia released a Helio P60 phone and are selling it for 45k (Nokia X5).

This is why we keep saying that they are defrauding Nigerians because considering the quality of their build materials and processors, their costliest phones should not be above the 40k mark. Xiaomi released a Redmi Go with Snapdragon 425 (1GB RAM/16GB ROM) and sold it for 25k! Nokia launched the Nokia X6 with Snapdragon 636 (4GB RAM/64GB ROM) and sold it for 60k, Xiaomi sold the Redmi Note 8 with Snapdragon 665 with a 48mp camera for 57k (3GB).

Infinix sold Zero 6 with a Snapdragon 636 phone for 120k. Tell me how are their phones cheap? The camera was nothing to write home about. It had no added functionalities. PES lagged on it. Yes see the hefty price tag when one can get cheaper phones for better prices.

It's why we keep saying they're defrauding Nigerians. Samsung has the A10, A20, A30 and A50. Nokia has the 2.0+ and 3.0+ series, the X5, X6. Xiaomi has the Redmi Go, Redmi 7 and 8 series, Umidigi good cheap phones too, Oppo are too expensive for now and overpriced even though they have good phones.

Do research and look around the market. You'll see that for the bare minimum, Transsion are dishonest. I was once their defender but make we see truth talk. Peace.

From the day I used IR blaster to control appliances, I used the OTG cable to run both a harddrive, keyboard, mouse and and printer at the same time, I screencast to my TV at home, I play PUBG at HD settings, I enjoy PD charging via a type C cable, I rock a gyroscope and I take 360° photosphere pictures.

Nothing will make me use a Tecno or Infinix scrap metal. Nothing.

The problem I have is with people here that buy cheap 30k phones with 2gb ram and complain of the poor quality then want to compare with Samsung phones of 80k. Pliz just suffer quietly don't disturb our peace just coz you made a poor purchase decision.
