Good morning everyone, I have been unavoidably absent here for a few days, somethings had to be taken care of. I am so glad to be back here. |
Good morning everyone, Since my plan is to build a multi-million naira brand in 2 years, I have come up with a workable plan to do that: 1) I plan to bid for more bulk jobs in the next 2 years, as many as I can handle in order to extend my brand reach and to get compound profits. (So if you have or know anyone that needs my services, my team and I would be more than happy to handle it). 2) I plan to apply for more grants and seed investments in the next 2 years. 3) I plan to generate more passive income for the brand by writing e-books,organising webinars and online trainings. These are the ideas I have at the moment, if you have other helpful ideas I would love to hear them. P.s: I am already working on our first E-book |
Good morning, how may I help you today? |
I hope my story encourages anyone that is just starting out or about to start a business. Failing isn't the end of the world. You can always do better. Although, I have not gotten to where I want to be yet, I am on the way to getting there. |
And then I started getting more bulk jobs afterwards. In December, I made 100 drawstrings bags for a program in Akure. Now my bags are in Abuja, Ekiti, Akure, Lagos, Ibadan, Edo and most recently, the U.S.

My brand would be 2 years old in April this year and already we have sold close to 500 bags. 9 times more than we sold in the first year. I have had the opportunity to collaborate with with other brands too. In October, I got a contract to supply a company with 300 lunch bags for their staffs. It was a major win for me.
|
In my first business year, I sold about 50 bags. I was elated. At first, I was scared that I would fail but when people started buying I began to gain more confidence and talk about my brand more. Towards the end of 2020, I enrolled for another bag making training with one of the biggest craftsperson in Nigeria, if you know the Nigerian bag making world well then you would know OBILEATHER. This person has been in business for over 40 years and I felt more than honoured to learn from him. That training didn't come cheap at all, I had to pull all my savings and solicit for support from friends and family but it was more than worth it.

After one year, I began to develop interest in bag making again. Lol. So I spoke with a few people and then critically evaluated the business and why it failed. I discovered a few things. 1) I wasn't skilled enough to sustain the business. I was creative but I didn't have the technical know how. So it was difficult for people to trust my work or even want to buy it. 2) I didn't know much about business and finances 3) I didn't have a good business plan or the appropriate branding. So, I created an action plan to help me do better. In 2019 I enrolled for a bag making training for a year and I learnt a whole lot regarding skill and business. Also I read a lot of books on business and financial intelligence and I attended every business conference that I could attend in order to prepare myself. My training ended in 2020 and I started my brand again in the same year. This time, better equipped. |
Good morning everyone. I really appreciate everyone that dropped an encouraging message. Thank you. So quick story, I started this brand first in 2017 and failed. Yes, I failed. My business came crashing down in less than a year of launching. At that point I was so discouraged that I vowed never to do anything leather or bag business again. My thoughts were "maybe this bag thing is not for me" so I stopped and decided to face other areas of my life and I continued like that for a year. |
Emmex45:Thank you so much, I am much more motivated to reach my goal. |
alexvic12:This ennneerrrggggyyyy!!!!! Amen!! Thank you so much. |
Hi everyone, my name is Racheal and I currently run a bag making brand called De'bella creation. My brand meet the bag needs of men, women and children across various age groups. We also produce bulk sourveniers for cooperate events and parties. My ultimate goal is to have stores all over the world and one day compete with the top bag designers in the world. My 2 years goal is to build this brand into a multi-million naira brand. I will be recording my journey on this thread including my wins, losses and lessons learnt.
